Y/N POV
"Keisha thank you for doing my hair on such short notice." I said.
"Girl it is no problem. You're the only person that'll make me come in on my day off." Keisha said.
Sometimes all you need is a day at the beauty shop to help you relax. My scalp was screaming for a deep condition so I hit my homegirl Keisha up to see if she was able to hook me up. I felt kinda of bad for asking her to come in on her day off but Keisha said it was no problem at all. I was feeling a little frisky so I decided to put some highlights in my hair.
"So what's going on with this new man your grandma been telling me about?" Keisha asked.
"He's a good man. I'm surprised he's still with me considering all the craziness in my life. But I love him and he loves me." I said.
"So can I expect a wedding in the near future?" Keisha asked.
"Not too soon but marriage is definitely something we both want. He already proposed once and I turned him down. But we were able to work past that." I said.
"Show him me a picture of him." Keisha said.
I took out my phone and showed Keisha my lock screen. "He got a brother?" She asked.
"He has an older brother but he's getting married soon." I said.
"Damn! But you my friend hit the jackpot. I bet you hop on that on thing every chance you get." Keisha said.
"You know I do. It's been three weeks since I last got some and my body is craving my Spanish papi right now. I think I'm gonna fly back home and get some." I said.
"You would seriously fly back home just to get some and leave?" Keisha asked.
"Is water wet?" I asked.
"You're a bad bad girl Y/N." Keisha said.
Keisha took off my cape and spun my chair around. My hair was looking too good. I should move Keisha to New York so I can have her around all the time. I went in my wallet and pulled out ten one hundred dollar bills. When I handed it to Keisha, "Y/N this is too much. I can't take all of this money." She said.
"Yes you can. You're the hardest working woman I know and she should be paid accordingly. Just take the money Keisha." I said.
Keisha started getting emotional on me. "Y-Y-You just paid my car note." She said.
"Aww. I'm glad I was able to help. Now give me a hug girl." I said.
I gave Keisha and assured her that everything would be okay. While I was putting on my jacket there's was tapping on Keisha's window when I turned around Shai was standing outside. I don't what she was doing in Chicago but I planned on finding out why. I put on my jacket and went outside.
"What you doing here?" I asked.
"Shit was crazy back home and I needed to get away for awhile." Shai said.
"I can respect that." I said.
"I was about to go hit up that Jamaican spot down the block and I was wondering if you wanted to go grab a bite." Shai said.
"Sure." I said.
We started walking down the street and it felt like we were kids again. Mom used to send me on errands and she always made Shai come with me. We got to the restaurant and took a seat in a booth that was in the back of the restaurant. I didn't need to look at the menu because I already know what I want.
"Yo this is the booth we used to sit in when we were kids." Shai said.
"Yes this is the one. When mom and dad said we were going to Kingston's for dinner it felt like Christmas. The only time we came here is when the paychecks were good and the income tax checks came." I said.
