The sun was slowly setting and (Y/N) admired the beautiful colours that were fading in the sky. The blues, pinks, yellows and oranges mixing together to create a beautiful mess of colour.
While (Y/N) stared intently at the sky, her boyfriend of three and a half months, Will Byers was looking at her.
Sure the sky was beautiful but in Will's eyes his girlfriend was even prettier.

(Y/N) and Will's relationship was loving but slow.
Of course they both decided to take things slowly and as life went on but (Y/N) was feeling like things were going a little too slow, especially for a relationship that had been happening for over three months.
(Y/N) could replay all the milestones that had happened in their relationship.

Day one: Will had asked her out in the same spot they were now having their picnic date (The lake by the cliff)

Month one and half: Will made her a mix tape

Month two: Will brought her to a movie and they said 'I love you' for the first time

Month three and a half (aka today): picnic date at sunset.

(Y/N) had to admit she loved Will and he was quite romantic at times but she wanted more from him.
They had been together for three and a half months and never once did they kiss.
Yeah there were a few awkward cheek kisses and forehead kisses but never once did they ever kiss each other on the lips.
(Y/N)'s friends always talk about how their boyfriends kissed them on the first date or the spots that they loved being kissed but she could never relate to the topic because barely anything has happened.
Her friends have been telling her to make the first move but (Y/N) was always hesitant and decided against it because she didn't know if Will was ready to take that step.

Will examined (Y/N)'S fascinated face.
Her (eye colour) eyes shimmering as the light of the sinking sun hit them perfectly.
Her (hair length) (hair colour) hair that was styled perfectly, just the way he liked it.
He loved her to pieces and would never think of trading her for anyone else.

"(Y/N)." Will said shyly as he put down his fork.

"Mhm." His girlfriend hummed as she took a bite of (your favourite food.)

"You know I love you right?" He asked.

"Yeah, why?" (Y/N) was a bit scared about what was to come next.

"I- I just wanted to make sure that you knew."

As much as Will wanted to do more with his girlfriend, he was extremely awkward and wasn't sure when the right time to make another move was.

"Well I love you too Will." (Y/N) smiled before taking another bite of her food and looked back out over the small lake. The colours of the sky reflected on the water making it look like water that some cleaned their paint brushes in. It was beautiful.

Will moved closer to (Y/N). Inch by inch. Slowly but surely until his arm was behind her back. (Y/N) looked over at her fluster boyfriend and smiled sweetly.
He looked into her (eye colour) eyes and she looked into his. They held their stare looking at each other, refusing to look away like it was an intense staring contest.

Will's soft, warm hand made light contact with (Y/N)'s cheek, caressing it lightly. The light contact made (Y/N) feel tingly and electric. They continued to stare at each other, studying each others faces.
Will's eyes occasionally flicked down to his girlfriend's lips.
He moved his head closer so that their noses were brushing making (Y/N)'s breath hitch with anticipation.

Will had adrenaline coursing through his body. He was shaking with nerves and excitement.
He shut his eyes and closed the space in between him and his girlfriend. His slightly chapped lips touched (Y/N)'s soft ones taking her by surprise.
She smiled into the kiss while she shut her eyes.

The kiss came to an end and they both pulled back with red faces.

"I love you," Will whispered.

"I love you too."
