"The townspeople blamed it on a witch. But, I knew. I knew that in the middle of the night, he doesn't get up. He sleeps all the way to day light. But, the night my father died, he had just so happened to be sneaking around. You see, I have a sever case of insomnia. He came in to check on me at around one o'clock. He never does that. Ever," Alex gulped. His voice started to shake, "I asked him what he was doing. He replied with the last smile I'd ever see on him, 'just checking on you. One of the maids woke me up.' The next morning, father was found dead. Blood covered and stabbed."
"How are you completely sure? He may have heard something and was checking to make sure that you were ok, " I tried to change his mind.
"No only did his personality do a backflip from a sweet young boy to a lifeless asshole. But, at father's funeral, he looked into the casket and smirked. It was like he planned it all. I'm sure that he did."
"I'm sorry," I said, "I've had a few people betray me. But, they didn't go as far as kill me."
"Who were they?"
"When you're the kind of person I am, nobody trusts you. Not even your own family."
"I didn't think that a family would kick out an aspiring doctor. I'd think that they'd be proud of your decision."
"I'm not a doctor."
"Then what are yo-" he fell over a steep drop. It wasn't a long fall. But, it caused him to lose his balance and his train of thought.
We walked in silence. Soon, we were out of the woods and walking along a small beach. I thought it was a beautiful, secluded area. Then, another man approached us.
