Unfortunately, today I needed to visit a friend in the far side of the woods. This took a ton of time, and, frankly, I don't trust Alex alone for a long period of time. So, as cruel as it sounded, I made a wounded man walk all five miles in the snow with me.
"W-when are we getting there?" He tried to hide his shivering. But, the goosebumps and gritting teeth have me enough evidence.
"We're already here," I chimed, giggling at how he tried to impress me by "taking the cold".
I pointed at a small wooden cabin. He ran up to it as fast as he could, falling down a few times.
I raced up behind him and we eventually reached the door.
I knocked and he answered. On the other side of the door way stood a skinny, short young man. He had red hair and ocean eyes.
"Frost?" He said in that thick Scottish accent, "is that really you? It's been forever!"
"Hello, Archie" I actually smiled around this man. He was my friend. Why wouldn't I?
Alex seemed surprised to see me doing an action even close to a real grin. He had that look on his face. Like the one a child would make if they were caught sneaking a cookie from the jar. However, considering how "wonderful" Alex was at lying, he most likely made this face quite a lot when he tried sneaking a cookie in before dinner.
"Oh!" Archie seemed elated at the sight of Alex. " the name is Archie, if that hasn't been established already. What name do you g-"
Archie stopped rambling when Alex stepped forward into the light. Alex seemed like he was spacing out. Archie was...shocked?
"Archie?" I broke the silence that was lingering between them, "is something wrong?"
Archie got on one knee, "I am sorry to disrespect you like that, your highness. I didn't recognize you."
My eyes widened when the words came out of Alex's mouth, "I don't respond to that anymore."
