Liar, liar

The man jumped back at the sight of the weapon in my hand. This action led me to believe that he had no way of defending himself against it. His eyes widened, "Calm, ma'am, calm. I'm not here to hurt, steal from, or kidnap this dwelling. I promise," he smiled. As if, the person he had met wasn't panicking after what just went down. " people call me Alex. What name do you go by, m'lady?"
"Are you kidding me?!" I shouted, utterly confused on how he was acting coming out of a situation like that, "you almost met the lord himself on my sofa, and you talk like we're two people meeting in a bazaar! What the hell is wrong with you?!"
"Well, nice to meet you, 'what the hell is wrong with you'. How has your day been?" he put on a smile as if to avoid giving me the information he clearly needed to provide to me.
"Don't act like your only five years old! I need answers!"
          "Answers to what questions?"
"You know the ones! What are you doing so far out in the woods?! Why was there an arrow lodged in your side?! Why were they chasing you?!"
"Well, m'lady, I'll answer those right now. First of all, I'm out here because I'm running from those men because well..." he looked up at the ceiling. Then, back down at me, "...they were thugs," he said in an oddly cheery voice for a man who was almost robbed.
          "Thugs?"
          "Yes, thugs!"
"That's funny. I've never seen a group of thugs take sanctuary in a place so far out in the woods."
He began laughing at this point, "yes, me neither. I guess they just didn't want anyone to raid their base."
I pinned that as a fib fairly quickly. "Ok then, how did you get an arrow in the side? Thugs normally don't fight with bows. They're too expensive. Especially the bows that can pierce through human skin and clothes."
" well....I.....uhhh...." speechless. "Well you see, these were fairly wealthy looking thugs. They had pockets of change that I could hear from a mile away!"
I sighed, " whatever, I'm too tired for this crap. You can sleep on the chair. There's a blanket behind you. Towels are in that closet," I gestured to the closet behind Alex,"don't touch my stuff. Don't snoop. You'll clean the sofa in the morning. Zeera will be watching you."
As I walked into my room, I could hear Zeera's wings flapping behind me. She had night shift. Anything happens, she comes and gets me.
"W-wait!" I heard him shout after me.
"What is it?" I stopped and asked the question in an annoyed tone.
"What makes you think I'll stay here over night? Last I checked, this wasn't a hotel."
"Alex, that wound won't heal until a few months have gone by. You can barely be on your feet."
He tested this by attempting to stand up. Only to get half way and stumble back into his previous spot.
"Damn!" He shouted, " can I at least know my caretaker's name?"
"Frost," I said, " my name is frost."
I made my way back into my room. The entire time, I was considering how fast I could get this guy out of my house. It needed to be done quickly.
