Chapter 9

Ashley lead Eva out the bar and into the warm Georgia wind outside. Ashley opened his car door for Eva to get in. All she knew was that it was a black car, she didn't know much about cars. Unlike Iris, who can name tons of different models of cars and motorcycles.

Ashley started pulling out of the parking space. "Where are we going?" Eva asked.

"To my hotel. I just have to get dressed into a change of clothes." He said. Eva nodded and looked out the window, she looked at all the buildings they passed by. The neon flashing lights reflecting brightly in the night time. They passed a nightclub with large lit up purple letters that said ACID.

"That entire club is on drugs," Eva said.

"I think this entire street is on drugs," Ashley said referring to the corner with the eager prostitutes. Those ladies are usually always at that corner, renting out their bodies.

"So, you're in Highschool?" Ashley asked. He knows how much trouble they both would get into if they for caught together. Even though they're just friends, it wouldn't look right at all.

Eva sighed. "Unfortunately," she answered.

"Aw, you don't like it?-- I didn't like it much either." He said.

"It's full of idiosyncrasy douche canoes." Eva said quoting Iris. Ashley laughed.

"Good description," He said.

"Well what about you-- how's the whole rock star life?" Eva asked putting air quotes around rock star life.

"Amazing as always." He said as they pulled into a Hampton Hotel parking lot.

They got out of the car and walked up the cement steps into the lobby of the hotel. Eva held onto the black metal bar, holding herself back from pulling out her hand sanitizer and cleaning her hands, the usual Eva Hyde would do that, but not tonight, not this Eva. Not this daring girl who took her over tonight.
