Chapter 7


Eva ran back out of the bar and saw Iris arguing with the bouncer at the door.

"So you left your I.D. in your other pants?" The bouncer asked with his arms crossed. He wasn't buying it.

"Yes. Now let me in." Iris said.

He looked at her for awhile and eyed her up and down.

"You're 21?" He asked.

"Yes." Iris lied. Eva watched intently trying not to laugh. She felt Ashley walk up next to her. She gasped a little.

"A little jumpy, Eva." He said. She blushed then turned back to watch Iris lie herself into a bar.

"You didn't get carded?" Ashley asked her.

"No, I ran past him but he caught Iris." Eva told him.

"Where do you work, then?" The bouncer asked Iris. I mean, she does look 21.

"I work at hot topic." Iris answered. The bouncer chuckled.

"That's obvious." He commented.

Iris folded her arms across her chest. "Ha ha ha..." She sarcastically laughed.

He stepped aside. "You can go in..." He said, his voice was hollow and full of thought. He probably knows she's a minor.

Iris went in past him with a stride and a grin but she ran inside. She saw Eva and Ashley standing together.

"Ashley Purdy?" Iris asked in awe of her idol.

Eva waved her hand to dismiss that conversation. "Iris, let's go."
