"Oh," Eva said. He's one of those guys. Eva felt discouraged of her fantasies of a forbidden romance with Ashley. Her mother always told her to be a lady and to steer clear of men who want to turn you into a cat call. She wants a man like the ones in those romance movies, a courageous, loving man. But from all the BVB interviews she's seen, Ashley doesn't seem like that at all.
"But he knows she's underage, I don't think he'd try to. I mean, I'm sure he knows his limits." Tessa tried to reassure Eva that her aspiring romance has a chance of growing.
"True," Iris agreed. Eva pursed her lips. She really likes Ashley and she doesn't want to mess this up. She already forgot about them seeing each other earlier, she needs to make this "date" perfect.
"Girls?" Eva said to get their attention. Iris stopped at a red light and looked at Eva.
"Yeah?" Iris asked, she looked concerned.
"I, erm," Eva hesitated.
"Yesssssssss?" Tessa asked, her face anxious.
"I need-- fuck-- I need your girls' help for today. I- I need you to help make sure that I don't mess up with Ashley today, I've never been on a date, I don't know what to say-- I don't know what to wear... I barely know what a date is!" Eva babbled. She was desperate to get some dating tips from Iris and Tessa who were practically love gurus.
"I'm no love guru, Evangeline. You're my best friend, of course I'm going to help you." Tessa warmly said to Eva, she smiled.
"Me too, E. I want your date to go perfect." Iris told her with a smile.
"Thank you," Eva told them.
Iris drove them to Eva's house where they planed to doll her up. They sat Eva on her chair at her desk. Iris and Tessa examined her.
"Where do we start?" Iris asked. Tessa scratched her head.
"Let's start with that hair, what the hell did you do to it last night?" Tessa asked as she scrummaged through Eva's things looking for her hair brush.
"I teased it." Iris said blantly. Tessa started running the hairbrush through Eva's tangled blonde hair.
"I can see that." Tessa mumbled. After de-tangling Eva's mop of hair they moved onto her face.
"Ugh Eva, we needa do your eyebrows," Iris said. Tessa examined Eva's brows.
"Yup." she agreed, "We need some tweezers."
"You're plucking them?"
"Yes,"
"Doesn't that hurt?" Eva questioned. She's never even payed attention to her eyebrows.
"Yes, but beauty hurts." Iris told her. Eva groaned. After some swift plucking at Eva's eyebrows and a few tears they started to curl her hair.
"I've never curled my hair before." Eva said coyly. This was Iris and Tessa's element, not hers. They gave Eva's blonde hair some wave.
"Let's put some winged eyeliner on her," Iris said to Tessa.
After they did her eyeliner they finished her off with some blush and false eyelashes with some red lipstick to match.
"Oh, Eva, you look like a doll!" Tessa said admiringly.
"You were beautiful before, and now you're even more beautiful!" Iris gushed. Oh, so I wasn't that beautiful before...
Eva smiled and her cheeks flushed. She wasn't used to people complimenting her.
"What do you wanna wear?" Iris asked her.
"Hmph. I haven't thought about it yet."
"Let's go through your wardrobe."
Eva studied her winged eyeliner in the mirror while Iris and Tessa looked through her closet. After deliberating and arguing, Iris and Tessa picked out Eva's outfit for her date with Ashley; a white fitted top with some skinny black jeans and Tessa's black Dr. Marten boots. With some hoop earrings to match.
"Pop those boobs out more, Eva," Tessa teased.
"She doesn't need to, she's already been in his hotel room with him," Iris told Tessa.
"Oh?" Tessa asked with a and-when-was-I-supposed-to-know-this face.
"It was only once, and it was when he just needed to change clothes," Eva explained. Tessa and Iris shook their heads simultaneously.
"Just go look in the mirror." Iris said. Eva got up and looked at herself in her full-length mirror. For the first time in forever, she liked what she saw.
"Oh my... dang. I'm cute." Eva said to herself. She looked, hot.
Am I ready to have to be doing this every morning? No I am not.
"Yes you are very cute. Now call Ashley," Iris told her. She rang Ashley's phone, he picked up immediately.
"Eva?" he answered, he sounded giddy.
"Hi..." she said.
"Hi,"
"Um, so, our date today...?" she awkwardly asked.
"Oh, you called it a date," Ashley said dryly.
"Yeah..."
"I'll pick you up in half an hour, okay?" he asked lightening the awkward air. Eva smiled through the phone.
"Okay," she said cheerfully, way too cheerfully. You could feel him smiling.
"Bye," she said.
"Bye, baby." he said then hung up. Eva dropped the phone. Baby? He called me baby.
