Delilah's P.O.V.

"Xayn, are you seriously still considering going on that trip?" I breath, leaning casually in his doorway.

"Yeah, I'm going. Why wouldn't I be?" he answers.

"What!? But people could kill you!" This is insane!

"There'll be guards, and my dad still wants me to go. There's some stuff he has to take care of here, so he thought it would be a good time for my mom and I to take this trip. It'll be fine, but I'll definitely miss you," he assures me. I huff and walk away towards the wizard tower. There might be a new book for me to read.

As I step on to the platform elevator thing, Renny sees me and calls me up to her lab. She hands me a silver bracelet and explains how it'll keep my hoverboard safe. When I step on to my hoverboard, it suddenly becomes longer and is red and blue swirled! I thank her and grab a book to read back in my room.

*A few days later*

"I can't believe you're still leaving!" I cry as Xayn hops onto his hoverboard.

"You better call her," Jade threatens. I glare at her.

"Bye!" he yells as he zooms off, flanked by about fifteen guards. I really hope nothing bad happens on his trip. Tears spring to my eyes, and Renny hugs me.

"He'll be fine," she assures me. Leila nods and takes me to go get something to eat. I hope they're right...

As Leila and I eat, I worry about what could happen to the Prince. Leila keeps assuring me that he'll be fine, but I just can't help but wonder.

The next few days are lonely and depressing, because I'm really hoping he'll come back soon. Or decide that the trip was a bad idea and turn around. I just want him back here.

I sit in my room reading when an urgent beeping comes from my improved hoverboard. Renny, Leila, Jade, and Marie's faces pop up on the screen.

"Guys, you seriously need to come to my lab. Now," Renny commands before clicking off. She was super white and seemed really scared. I shrug at the others before clicking off myself.

I'm the first one at the tower, but Leila, Jade, and Marie soon arrive seconds later. Renny gathers us around the scrying bowl. A watery image of Xayn is displayed on its surface, and all of us gasp in horror of what is going on. As he sleeps, three black clad assassins grab him and run off the image.

"That's all it will show. I think the assassins broke my scrying bowl!" Renny screams in agitation.

"We need to find Xayn," Jade insists. I start hyperventilating. Is this real? I told him, I told him, I told him. I told him and he should have listened. My breathing is starting to get heavier and harder. I choke on my last gasp before I'm falling, and the world goes black.
