Saving the Prince

Chapter Eight: Marie's POV

Marie's P.O.V.

I am so confused. Prince Xayn is leaving? Where's he going?

I hop back on my hoverboard and zoom back to my neighborhood streets. There, Narwhal and Frederick are still playing soccer.

"Could you guys use another player?" I ask.

"Sure," Narwhal answers, kicking the ball my way. We start to play, and it starts to get dark fast. Soon we're all waving good-bye and heading back inside. I run down to the basement to visit Angel, my Penguin. His white stomach is shaped like a heart. It's so cold down in the cellar so that he can live down there.

"Hey Angel,' I greet as he waddles over to me. Penguins are so cute, especially Angel. He's adorable. Sometimes I like to pretend I'm a penguin.

Suddenly, a beeping noise comes from my hoverboard, and I pick it up. Renny's face is on the screen, as well as Jade's.

"Marie, Jade," Renny says urgently.

"What's up?" I greet.

"There's a criminal on the loose. I just had to warn you, Marie, he might be heading in your direction. Jade, he's in the plaza. Please hurry," Renny explains.

I'm so confused. What's going on? How did the criminal get loose? Renny and Jade click off, so I grab the hoverboard and run up the stairs. Maybe I can help. I zoom over to the castle plaza as fast as I can. When I get there, I see a man dressed in all black standing in the middle of the plaza as I can see the tail of another man's coat going into the castle. I gasp in horror. He can't go into the castle!

Out of no where I'm pushed aside by another figure dressed in all black. I start to shout "Hey!", but a hand covers my mouth and the figure turns around, revealing her face. It's just Jade. She grabs her bow and arrow and hits the guy in the plaza in the back. He slumps to the ground and Jade motions for me to follow her into the castle.

Before we even get inside, I hear a popping noise and a bright light comes from the doorway. Jade and I rush even quicker to get inside to find Renny standing over the unconscious body of the man I saw going in earlier. She smiles at us.

"I think that's all of them. Good work, girls," She states proudly. But I guess she spoke to soon, because a high-pitched scream comes from the hallway that holds the royal families' bedrooms. Renny, Jade, and I look at each other in terror before running off again in that direction. I get there first, and am shocked by the scene in front of me.
