"Marie!!" Mom calls me. I immediately obey and she hands me a basket of food to sell at the market.

"Thanks, Mom. I hope I can find a good price for these." My words are almost drowned out because of all the noise in the small house. I live with my little sister, my big sister, my two little cousins, my grandma, and my mom. We're an all girls house, and sometimes that sucks.

I leave the house and walk into the little village outside the castle. Technically we're still inside the castle walls, but no one really associates us peasants with the royal family. But being a low life is actually kind of fun. There are less rules, and all of my neighbors are really friendly. The streets here are really wide, so kids are constantly playing in the streets. The houses are small and crowded, but that just brings us closer together. My house has a circular green roof and orange curved walls, like a little hut. It came from a long time ago, when our ancestors lived here and the royal family hadn't built the castle. It's like a little piece of ancient history.

A soccer ball rolls my way, and I place my foot against it then kick it back to the boy who shot it to me. I recognize him as my friend Narwhal. That's not really his name, but it's what I call him.

"Hey Marie," he greeted.

"Hey Narwhal. I've got to go to the market, so I'll play with you guys later," I replied, waving at my other friend, Frederick. I walk off towards the castle.

A blur of purple zooms past me before stopping a few feet ahead. It's the castle wizard, Renny, riding her hoverboard.

"Hiya Mar Mar!" she yells excitedly, her mood color changing eyes shining purple, meaning she's happy. Her purple hair was pulled into twin plaited pigtails that laid over her purple wizard's robes. Lavender, her light purple cat, peeked out from behind the long flowing robes. "Oh, you can have this. You need it more." She handed me her hoverboard. I nodded gratefully before hopping on it and continuing towards the castle.

When I arrive, the wide detailed doors swing open and reveal Princess Delilah and her Lady-in-waiting, Leila.

"Hey guys," I say excitedly. It's so fun to be friends with royalty.

"Hey Marie!" they say simultaneously before riding their hoverboards toward me as we glide down the pathways. Suddenly someone's calling for Delilah, and hands her a note. Wait, I'm confused, who's he? What's the note for?

"He's the mail carrier," Delilah explains. Oh. But she hasn't opened the letter yet.

We continue walking towards the market and finally arrive at the busy streets full of carts, street vendors, and storefronts. I'm able to sell my food to a girl about my age.

Delilah, Leila and I walked to our favorite café, Bluet Retande. The owner, Mrs. Peer, warmly greets us. There, we wait for the others.
