Drave's P.O.V
We ran down the stairs together.
"My parents," Cassie told us, "I completely forgot about them."
"I'll take care of them," I said.
"Um, what do you mean by you'll take care of them?" Cassie asked nervously.
I waved aside her question and walked towards Cassie's parents.
"Mr. and Mrs. Munroe, it is time," I told them.
They looked at me like I was crazy.
"Time for what?" they asked me.
Something tells me they didn't just forget what I put in that letter when they first found Cassie. They knew exactly what I was talking about. Wow, again I wish that I could read minds like my sister Athelia.
"I know how you found Cassie, you found her outside your doorstep fifteen years ago. I know you took a letter out of her blanket and read it and I know exactly what the letter says," I told them, my voice in a whisper.
"How do you know that?" Mrs. Munroe asked me taking a step back, "Are you those Vatlan people?"
Seriously, would a Vatlan know what was inside that letter.
"No," I told them, "I was the one who wrote the letter. I'm Cassie's brother."
"Then, prove it," said Mr. Munroe.
"I know exactly what was written in that letter, that is something a Vatlan wouldn't know."
"Really, you still remember exactly what was written in that letter?" Mr. Munroe raised an eyebrow at me.
Okay, I do not understand the human race. They are really complicated people.
"Listen, that was the hardest day of my life. I could've left Cassie anywhere I wanted to, but I left her on your doorstep. I am her brother and I don't need to prove that to anyone but I need her to come with me so apparently I have to prove it to you," I spat.
"Mind your tone young man," Mr. Munroe said to me, placing a finger on my chest apparently trying to make it seem threatening.
"If you're going for threatening, that's not going really well for you."
"Listen here," Mr. Munroe said, anger clear in his voice, "If you want to come into my house, involve my daughter in your alien business and be rude to me, you might as well get out now."
"Involve your daughter in this, first of all she's not your daughter, she was never your daughter from the start and she never will be. Yeah that's right, I really hate to break it to you but that's the truth and you know it. Second of all, I am not involving her in anything, since the day she was born she was involved in this. I am her brother, if anything I want her to be as far away from this mess as possible but that can't happen only she has the power to save the universe. Third of all, I am the only reason why she is alive so far. Since she came on Earth countless people from the Vatlan army was sent here to kill her, if I wasn't here right now she would most likely be dead right now."
After the third reason I was out of breath. I just let everything out. Everything I have been keeping inside for the past fifteen years. I was trying hard not to cry but tears stung my eyes threatening to fall any minute now.
"The point is," I said, "I love my sister, I wouldn't do anything to try and hurt her." I was surprised that my voice didn't crack.
But I spoke to soon, I felt a tear make its way down my cheek and I quickly wiped it away. It wasn't like me to cry, especially in front of other people. What happened next I was so surprised.
