Cassie's P.O.V
The day started of normal or as normal as it can get for me. I woke up, brushed my teeth and had a quick shower before racing downstairs to have breakfast. School was starting soon and I missed the bus again, third time this week.
I grabbed a quick bite said goodbye to my parents and took off down the road the only way that I could possibly reach to school on time was to fly. Yes, I know it sounds absolutely crazy stupid ridiculous but never say never because the world is one of possibilities.
I have these crazy, awesome, cool superpowers. I don't know how, all I know is that I have them and I am not allowed to tell anyone just my parents know. They have no idea how I got them.
Sometimes I just close my eyes and try to imagine where I'm from, how I have these powers. The only reasonable and logical explanation I can think off is none. So I kinda stopped doing it but I will give anything to find out how and why. The only thing I know is do not under any circumstances tell anyone or let anyone find out about it.
I took a deep breath and started to run its been a while since I flied or used any of my superpowers as a matter of fact so I just hope I still can.
I felt the wind whipping my hair back and my feet lifted up from the ground and before I knew it I was flying. Now, I have to admit if I'm not supposed to let anyone know who I really am and where I come from I really shouldn't be doing it but in all fairness if I don't know where I came from or know who I really am I think I'm good.
A few minutes later I landed a couple of blocks away from the school as soon I made sure the school passed, while I may be completely unpopular I still had friends who were on that bus and I am pretty sure they would find it suspicious I was late for the bus as I usually am and still reached before them.
As I entered the compound I was greeted by a very angry looking Maddie also known as my best friend in the whole wide world. Okay so I lied when I said I had a couple of friends (plural) on the bus it's just one.
Maddie was a complete dork like me despite her brother being the 'it' boy in the school and the even more shocking thing Maddie's brother was her twin brother. They both had olive skin, blonde hair and blue eyes.
"Hey, I told Maddie," as I walked up to her.
"I can't believe you Cassie, you always miss the bus and just stroll in here like ten minutes after."
"Yeah, I walk really fast. So let's go to class," I said quickly eager to change the topic.
We walked to class quietly since Maddie was still upset with me because I missed the bus. Honestly she's just mad because she had to take the bus with her twin brother Matthew. I knew it even though she didn't say anything, she didn't have to. Maddie and I were best friends since forever, well it was since kindergarten really but you get the idea.
Maddie's parents worshipped Matthew. He was the more athletic one, the one into sports and popular and more sports and popular and Maddie's parents really liked the way the sports thing was going for him despite his grades looked like crap and Maddie's grades were like Einstein. Apparently Maddie's parents had a thing for sports I don't know. The point is they paid much more attention to Matthew than Maddie even though they were twins but I guess there always is a favorite child right.
As we walked, I was deep in conversation with Maddie. Well apologizing to Maddie and I bumped into someone who looked something like me, I mean this guy could have passed for my brother.
He had caramel colored skin, deep brown hair and light brown eyes. He looked about the same age as me the only thing slightly different was that he had a look of pure confidence written all over his face. Well it would have been if he wasn't staring down at his phone.
When I accidentally bumped into him he looked up and for a moment I wasn't sure if I was imagining it but he seemed to recognize me. I was sure a moment of recognition flashed through his eyes but he quickly recovered but I still might have been imagining it.
"Sorry," he muttered and walked off bending his head to look at his phone screen once again.
"Are you sure you are an only child?" Maddie asked me.
"Yeah, I'm pretty sure," I replied, "Do you know him?"
"No, I never saw him before," Maddie replied.
The rest of the day past by quickly and I didn't see the boy again but I was sure of one thing. He knew me. I didn't know how or from where but he knew me even if I didn't know him.
