Drave's POV

So, turns out I may have needed the users manual after all. Too bad it didn't come with one. I pointed and waved the staff all over the place and let's just say things were not working out.

How do you use this thing?

The Vatlans charged at us and I ended up using the staff not for its magical purpose or whatever but more as a tool for hitting the guards on the head.

Wow, a user manual would be really nice.

If we're having trouble defeating two guards, then how are we supposed to fight an army and win.

The two guards did call for reinforcements, and the reinforcements came. My mouth dropped open when I saw who it was. It was the leader of the Vatlan army, the one who offered me that place in the army so long ago.

"If it isn't the young prince," his voice echoed throughout the place, everyone stopped fighting and turned their heads towards the Vatlan leader and I.

"My offer still stands, even after all these years. You could take your place, right by my side," he said.

Strange enough, I actually thought about it. To just give up everything and join the Vatlans. The things that I had to give up wasn't much. I had to give up my place as prince but Radon was still trying to recover from the attack that was so long ago, basically no one ruled Radon anymore except the Vatlans.

I had to give up my friendship with Maddie and Matthew. Lyris, Druim and Anathelia wouldn't even want to talk to me anymore far less see me. But Anathelia already hates my face, so. Eh.

The offer was tempting, really tempting. Even though, I didn't really have anything much, the relationship that I had with my friends and family was worth suffering through the Vatlans countless attacks.

"Never," I said.

"Usually, this is when I close my offer but I will leave it open," he said, "I can see you were thinking about it, which means, there is still hope for you yet."

Wow, if things ever go really bad, then I think that I will take up on their offer. Nah, just kidding, or am I.

I continued using, the staff, as a battle ax, swinging it wildly and soon we managed to knock down the Vatlans that were blocking our way.

"You know your mother would be disappointed with you for not taking up the offer," the leader said.

"My mother?" I questioned.

"Yes your mother," he said, "Did she not tell you?"

A million thoughts gathered in my head and none made sense.

How was my mother involved with the Vatlans

Whatever Athelia said, was it true?

Was my mother a spy?

None of these thoughts made sense but yet they did. Does that even make sense?

I don't know what makes sense anymore.

So, I said the only thing that came to my mind. The smartest answer of them all,"What?"

"You know it is a really good thing you're good looking because you sure are dumb," Maddie said at my side.

"I agree with the girl. You really are dumb," the Vatlan said.

"I will have both of you know, that was rather offensive," I said.

I can't believe that the Vatlan leader agreed with Maddie. What is she a Vatlan?
