Emma's P.O.V:
I wait anxiously on the couch for Killian to come back with the kids.
Henry. I get to see Henry again. My baby boy.
I see the doorknob rattling and I rush to open the door.
"Look who's home!" Killian says to Henry, holding him with one arm, Molly in the other.
"Mommy!!!!!" Henry says, pulling out of Killian's arm and right into mine.
"Oh my baby I missed you so much," I say, holding his warm body against my chest, running my fingers through his soft hair.
He pulls away to look into my eyes.
"Mommy why do you have blue and purple paint all over you?" Henry asks giggling. Right. Paint. Mhm.
"Uh it was part of my... trip. It will go away with time."
"Can I have blue and purple paint?"
"Okay why don't we get you some lunch," I say laughing.
"Okay, mommy mac?" he asks, happiness gleaming in his eyes. 'Mommy mac' is what he calls my mac 'n cheese, it's his favorite thing in the world.
"Sure baby, mommy mac."
"Yay yay yay!! Molly my mommy's making mommy mac!!"
Emma? Molly signs shyly, approaching me.
Hey sweatheart, I sign back. I missed you too, I tell her. She smiles, hugging me.
You know what Molly? I think Killian and I should teach you how to talk, what do you think? I sign to her.
Yes please, she signs with a smile, running off to play with Henry. I shake my head, laughing, and head into the kitchen to get the 'mommy mac' going.
"So, Swan, remember that doctor's visit we talked about? We should get going soon. And I need to replace your bandages before we leave," Killian says. I sigh.
"Do we have to? I'd rather just stay here wtih you," I tell him quietly, sinking into his arms. I place my head on his heart, its steady beating relaxing me. He runs his fingers through my hair, which feels awfully good. With a free hand, he stirs the mac and cheese so it won't stick to the bottom of the pot, hoding me all the while. He pulls out his phone, scrolling through his contacts till he finds Ruby and texts her, asking her to come babysit so he can take me to the doctor's. I sigh.
"That's a yes then?" I ask him, looking up into his eyes, already knowing the answer. He nods, planting a kiss on my forehead.
My whole life, doctors, hospitals, medical centers, they've always been my least favorite people and places in the world. The smell makes me naucious, and all the doctors...
When I had Henry, I was in pain, all alone, with nobody to help me. I didn't like the doctors' place even before I had Henry, but after having him, I've tried really hard to avoid anyone or place that's medical. At least I won't be alone this time.
"Go put on something comfy, love. I don't know how long we'll be there. We leave in ten alright? Ruby will be here soon. Don't worry about the mac, I've got it.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!" Henry says, his mouth open way wide so I can assume he's yelling.
"Whoa, bud, what's wrong?" I ask, knealing down to his level.
"It's called mommy mac not Killian mac!! You have to make it." I laugh at his cuteness, turning around to see Killian's expression exactly the same as mine.
