~Autumn~
It had been 3 months since I developed my telepathy. Charles had been giving me separate lessons, since I'm not having normal lessons now due to the fact I'm now a senior apparently. I had somehow upgraded after doing so well that year on my report card. It had been ten months since I had started my classes, started living at the mansion. Today we were on a field trip that Hank was in charge of, I was allowed to call him but his first name out of class now since I am only taking the advanced classes, close to graduating after the exams. But this was the best trip of the year apparently, Hank does it every year with a group of his best students which were all close friends of mine by this time of year, including my best friend, the one and only Night crawler.
I ran over a hill, finding a pathway down a wood that looked so similar to the hologram that Logan had made me run through so many months before today. I smelt the forest around me, the life surrounding us and the feeling of the earth underneath my paws. Since it was a camping trip, I was in charge of finding the best camping site, since I knew the Virginian woods so well. Everything about this place was so familiar. Ororo, Logan, Hank, Professor X and a bunch of students including Kurt lumbered behind me. "I think we should somewhere to camp soon." Hank noted, I nodded at him and started to run away in my wolf form. Making the students sigh as they struggled to catch up with my fast and agile form.
"Slow down!" Hank called. I did so reluctantly, but not before catching a familiar scent. It smelt like...no, that can't be. Changing back into a human, I looked around to see where I was. It had aged but it was oh so familiar. "Hazel?" Logan placed his hand on my shoulder as I continued to look around, searching for the owner of that scent. "I thought..." I trailed off as I heard a rustle in the bushes in front of us. "Stay back." I whispered loudly to the others behind us. I turned back to the bushes turning into a wolf as I went to investigate. Launching myself into the bushes, something else launched itself at me, a small blur of fur and teeth as it attempted to tear at my neck with its small fangs. A slender wolf emerged from my fur as I turned back into a human, it looked at me with confused golden eyes as the fur disappeared. Confusing the wolf. I was shocked to say the least. "Aww." Kitty purred.
"Zach?" I questioned as I held the small wolf pup by his scruff. He cocked his head at me, "Oh my god..." I hugged the wolf pup to my chest. "Do you know this wolf Hazel?" Logan asked me. "He's my brother." I sniffled into his fur. "Your brother?!" Kurt whispered. I had told him everything about my family, but nobody else knew my secret...and I intend to keep it that way. "So where are the others?" Kurt asked. "Oh my god, you're right." I jumped up, Zach nipping at my heels as I turned back into a wolf, speeding deeper into the woods, knowing what was waiting for me in the centre as Zach followed me as fast as he could.
I was frozen to the spot, I couldn't breathe. This was unbelievable. In a clearing in front of me, I saw a white wolf picking through the dirt, looking for nuts I suppose. Her blue eyes wandering around the clearing as she searched for something to eat. Three wolf pups played in front of her, ignoring their responsibility of helping their mother, once Zach joined me and ran over to his mother...my mother, to tell her that I was there. I felt the presence of the others as they grouped up behind me. Looking behind me, I searched for the professor's eyes. He knew...somehow he knew. He must've used cerebro, there was no other explanation.
The mother wolf turned to meet my eyes, I turned to Xavier for one last look of acceptance before I dashed into the clearing. Logan stepped forward to try and stop me but it was too late. The white wolf ran towards me to greet me. AS we met in the middle of the clearing we both turned into our human form, stumbling to the ground and hugged each other as if the world was about to end. "Mom..." I cried into her shoulder. "My precious, precious daughter..." she sighed into my hair, trying to hold her tears back as the pups joined us in our reuniting embrace. "It's your sister...your sister has returned." Mom spoke out to her other children.
