"I'm lucky..." I sighed, growing tired even though I had only just woken up. "To call you guys my friends...family even." I smiled. Even though I had been close to death, I felt happy. "vhen vill she be better again?" Kurt asked Jean desperately. "She'll be fine in a couple hours. But she'll be sore for a couple more days, a week maybe. That Victor guy did quite a number on her." At the mention of Victor's name, Logan saw me flinch. "Shh, it's okay. He's not here and he never will be...ever again." He growled the last bit out. "Thanks Logan." I smiled, my fangs biting my bottom lip as I did so. "Can I get up now?" I asked Jean, exasperated. "...sure." She said after a moment of deep thought. "Great." I got up slowly, but I didn't realize I had one of those hospital gowns on. The one where the back of it opens out. So when I got up, Kurt gasped at the sight of my back.
"Shit." I seethed. "A little warning next time would be nice." I snapped at jean. "sorry Hazel...I, I forgot." Was all she could say. "What...what is it?" Logan said whilst walking round to the other side of me to see the collection of new scars upon the old ones on my back. All of Victor's doing. Logan had already guessed this and at the sight of it he let out a feral growl. "That shit head is gonna die a thousand times before I'm through with him." Logan began to walk out of jean's lab. "Logan wait!" I tried to walk after him but ended up falling into Kurt's arms. Completely helpless...once again.
It had been hours and I was worried sick. Leaning into the back of the couch in the rec room, I let all the sounds round the mansion get drowned out in my senses. No one else was with me. It was exam season. People were busy either studying or catching up on as much sleep as they could get. But not me...I wasn't going to sleep until Logan came back. And that was when I heard a crash coming from the doorway. Getting up, I rushed to find a bloody and tired Logan on the floor. "Shit." I said under my breath as I rushed to his side. "What the hell did you do?" I whisper shouted at him. "He...he had fucking backup." Was all he could say. "How much backup?" the only question on my mind. "That's just keep it at a lot." He sighed as he tried to get up, stumbling slightly before proceeding to move to his room. "Are they still with us Logan?" I asked. "No." he said darkly before he walked into his room.
I couldn't help following him...I was worried about him. So when he got into his bathroom, I followed. "What are you doing?" Logan sighed as he sat on the toilet lid. "Helping." I huffed before getting a facecloth and drowned it in water before pressing it to Logan's skin. Of course, he had already healed so he didn't hiss when I pressed it to him. "I meant why are you helping me?" He asked. "If I haven't made it clear enough already, I care about you, idiot. 'Cause you're my soulmate." I said fondly as I held his face in my hands. He held an equally loving look in his eyes as he stared into my eyes. "Thanks anyway." I said under my breath as I continued to wash away the blood from the cloth. "I'm guessing this is 'everyone' else's blood...right?" I asked him. After a moment pause I heard Logan faintly said 'yeah'.
The thing is...me and Logan had our faults, no matter what they were, we accepted each other despite them and we knew each other better than anyone else because of it. We can grow stronger together from these experiences and we don't have to always have our walls up in front of each other but we had each-others backs. Even if Logan had regenerative healing. But I knew that even though Logan and I were technically a thing now...we still weren't officially together...
