Logan's POV
I was just downstairs having a beer when I heard the crash of glass upstairs. I ran as fast as I could but when I got to Hazels' room, her door had been knocked down, her window smashed open. But before her kidnapper could get away I caught his scent. Victor...that guy just had to make my life constantly miserable. And not just mine apparently. Jumping out her window, I went in search of my soulmate.
I came to a base on the edge of the woods in a town east of Westchester. It was so far away from the mansion that I wondered how Victor had managed to get here on foot so fast. I needed to move fast or he could severely hurt Hazel. Taking a running start, I jumped onto the roof of the building, seeing as the front door was guarded and I didn't have time for that shit. I broke the door on the top of the roof down, running into the building without a second thought. But of course there had to be about fifteen guards in the hallway that I broke into.
I unleashed my claws, unleashing a blood bath simultaneously.
The hallways had been painted with blood, this was what I had to do to get Hazel back...this was what I had to do for her. Before I could take another step, the speakers on the walls came to life. "Go on Hazel...say something to your new boyfriend." Victor spoke the word new as if it were the equivalent of cancer. "L-Logan..." she croaked. "If you've even touched her Victor I'm gonna tear you apart!" I roared. "Tut tut, little brother, Hazel here has been good as gold, but...if she makes one wrong move, I will not hold back." He spoke menacingly into the microphone. "Logan he's got me in the hold-mph umph!" I presumed Victor had covered her mouth before she could say another word.
"Let her go Victor! She hasn't done anything to you!" I shouted down the endless corridors. "That's what you think..." Victor wheezed. "Now darlin', you sing nice and slow for Logan now. And sing him something sweet so he gets to remember your voice." I heard him whisper to her. "W-what do you w-want me to sing?" she stuttered nervously. This was the most scared I have ever heard Hazel be. Victor was the only person that could do this to her, and I was going to get rid of him and protect her from him for the rest of my life if I had to. "Anything you want." Victor sniffed.
"P-picture perfect memories...scattered all across the floor." Hazel sang as strong as she could. "Hazel..." I whispered. I started to run down the corridors in hope of finding the right room. "Reaching for the phone 'cause I can't fight it anymore." she continued. 'Don't worry Hazel, I'm coming for you.' I thought to myself as I continued to search. "Tell me where she is Victor!" I shouted at the ceiling. "I will...in person." Victor stepped out of a room, I presumed the one that was holding Hazel, I was so close. "And I wonder if I ever cross your mind?"
I knew this song was about me in Hazel's eyes. But I didn't want to be too late...Victor was looking for a fight and I was going to give it to him. He lunged at me, starting to run up on his hands and feet with his extended claws. Those things had always creeped me out...We both shouted at each other as we charged. Clashing together, my adamantium claws sparking against his claws as he tried to tear at my skin. "We used to work together Logan! And you abandoned me!" Victor screamed. "Then you go and steal my girl from me!!" He lashed, catching my cheek, making it bleed momentarily before the gash closed up. "You know this fight isn't going to end well Victor..." I warned him. "For me it happens all the time." Hazel carried on singing as we were fighting, as if she didn't want to get in trouble even though Victor was out here and couldn't hurt her as long as I was here.
"It's a quarter after one, I'm all alone and I need you now.
Said I wouldn't call but I've lost all control and I need you now.
And I don't know how I can do without.
I just need you now."
I started to smash Victor's head into the wall, but he was relentless. Every time I threw him to the floor, he would just get back up again. This wasn't going to end soon so I needed to get rid of him for good. When he came back towards me, I whispered "I'm sorry Victor..." then, I sliced his throat with my claws, a spurt of blood bursting forward as he hit the ground. That would keep him busy for a while...a did want to cut his head off once upon a time. Hazel...
Running towards the door, I opened it to find Hazel tied to a chair, tape covering the button on the microphone so it would remain on. "Oh thank god you're okay." She sighed. "I'm okay?! What about you?" I jogged over to her, slicing the rope to set her free. She got up but fell on me immediately afterwards. "What did he do to you?" I said scanning her body for injuries. "He...cut...me again." She breathed shakily. "We need to get you back to the mansion." I picked her up bridal style and intended on running back to the house with her in my arms like that.
When we got back, everyone was awake. They were all wondering what had happened and Kurt was close to having a fit after discovering that Hazel was missing. I would too if I discovered my best friend had just vanished in to thin air. But when I came back through the door with Hazel bleeding out in my arms, they all assumed the worst. "Hazel!" Kurt bamfed in front of her, making us both cough as I placed her on her feet. She fell into Kurt's and my arms. We supported her as we both took her down to Jean's lab next to the danger room.
Jean had us place her on the operation table that she first woke up on as she sterilized the work station. "I'm gonna need you two to leave, now." Jean commanded. "No, I'm not leaving her again." I growled, Kurt agreeing with me. But before we could say anything else, Jean forced us out with her telekinesis.
Hazel's POV
Waking up to the sound of a faint heart beat on a monitor wasn't the best thing in the world. Groaning, I tried to get up but Jean held me down with her powers. "Oh no you don't. You've lost a lot of blood and even Logan doesn't heal that fast. Slow down." She instructed. I sighed under her command. This was going to be a long day. "How long have I been out for?" I asked hesitantly. "3 hours. I had you in surgery for two of those, so I can't blame you for being asleep for one of them...you were bleeding internally. I had to use my mutation to save you." So I had barely survived after all. Logan...he had saved me. "Is Logan okay?" I asked suddenly.
"He's fine, more worried about you then anything else. Him and Kurt have been waiting outside all this time for me to let them back in and see you..." Jean trailed off, realizing that she was breaking a promise she opened the doors to her lab. Kurt and Logan came bounding in to my bedside. "You guys are such good friends." I stated as Logan reached out to grab my hand. I squeezed his weakly. "I'm just glad you're alive." Kurt mentioned. "Same here." Logan agreed.
