[18] Who Poppy Chose

"Okay. I'm sorry, Branch."

Everyone looked shocked, including Creek.

"I'm sorry Branch. Looks like we're not getting out of here." Poppy put her head down, and started walking backwards.

"Wait, what?! Poppy, you cannot do that!!" Creek yelled.

"Yes, I can, Creek. I'm not going to go out with you, I'm happy with Branch." then, she struggled out the words, "Deal with it."

"Wha-what?" Creek asked himself, as he started walking away. He stomped his foot. "This isn't fair!"

Poppy looked more gray than ever. She sat down, and cried. And cried and cried and cried.

Branch sat down next to her. "Poppy? You okay?"

She shook her head. "No. I've let everybody down."

"No, you haven't. You haven't let me down," Branch said.

"Or me," said Peppy.

Poppy shook her head. "I'm so dumb. In sorry, guys."

"Poppy, you're not dumb."

Poppy and Branch just sat there is silence for a few minutes, and Poppy just seemed to be getting sadder and sadder as the time went on.

Branch dribbling his fingers up her arm. She flinched and smiled.

At least he got her to smile.
