After the initial process had been explained to Marley- get the confession but be discreet about it, make it sound like a natural conversation- she agreed on the condition that they would tell Kelly. Although she doubted Kelly would still want her afterwards, she knew he'd be angry with her for agreeing to do this without asking. All four officers had agreed that she needed to do it immediately as the gang were getting antsy to see what would happen with the drug issue that Ryan had explained to them. Although she was nervous to go behind her boyfriend's back and snitch the entire gang out, she was assured she was going to be wired at all times and if she felt even remotely in danger she was to say the safe word ("Pressure") and they would intervene as safely and quickly as possible.
After being wired up and told for certain what they needed the confession for, she took a deep breath and text Ryan to see if she could meet up with him. He agreed and told her to meet him at his friend Caleb's, another member of the gang. She realised then that the majority of the gang were going to be there asking what happened. She informed the officers about what was happening and they told her to call Kelly. The phone took a few rings before he answered.
"Hello?" Kelly answered, a discreet sadness to his tone.
"Kelly? It's Jay, look, Marley needs to talk to you. But she wanted me to tell you first-"
"Is she going to prison?" He answered sharply.
"No, Kelly. She's told us the truth- Ryan planted the drugs."
"I'm going to kill him-" Kelly snarled before Jay cut him off.
"You don't have to. We're getting a confession out of him." He informed Kelly.
"A confession? Ryan would never confess to you-" He cut himself off. "No. No, no way. You can't seriously be sending Marley in there by herself?!" He shouted.
"I won't be alone," Marley interrupted. "They've given me wires and a safe word so I can get out. Ryan wouldn't hurt me. Besides, you can't stop me anyway. I'm doing this to help people, and I've already arranged to meet them." She stated firmly.
"Marley, please," Kelly began.
"Look I have to go. I'm sorry for being such a burden on your life Kel, thank you for everything you've done for me. I know I've ruined things in your life and I really am truly sorry. Tell Shay and Otis they've been great housemates for me please? Tell everyone I'm sorry, and Kel, I love you. You've been the best dad I could have wished for." She smiled slightly before hanging up.
"That sounded an awful lot like a goodbye Marley." Voight stated, raising an eyebrow.
"Just in case. I trust you guys, don't get me wrong, but I'd hate for anything to happen and Kelly still hate me for everything." She stated. The walk to Caleb's seemed longer than usual and she focused on trying to keep calm for the duration of the walk. They couldn't risk dropping her off and them seeing her leaving with the police as they knew there would be members everywhere watching out for her. When she arrived at the house, a text from Kelly came through. It was a simple "I love you" text but it still was enough to know that he still cared. She decided to turn off her phone and put in in her bra so it would be safe. Hesitating momentarily, she knocked on the door. Almost immediately, a man, who she believed to have the nickname 'Cookie' due to his habit of robbing the co0kie store in town, opened the door and told her to head to the living room. In there, Ryan was sat with around six other men. His face hardened when he saw her entering.
"Ayo, it's the dumb bitch that got our drugs taken off us!" He greeted causing everyone to laugh and she flinched as someone grabbed her arm and yanked her to the spare seat next to Ryan.
"What did the cops say?" Caleb asked her.
"Let me off on bail. They're investigating further though. Although I had them convinced the drugs were mine," she began the well rehearsed line Antonio had told her to say. "it was easier than I thought it would be, think its cause of my dads past drug habits that they believed me."
"So they had no idea that they could have been ours? None at all?" Ryan asked sceptically.
"Nah, not really. They asked about my connection to you, but I just said we hadn't spoken in a while and i'd got them off a man I know in town."
"Stupid cops, believe anything. Even with everything that's gone down lately." Ryan chuckled. Marley was thankful they were drinking- it was so much easier to convince a drunk gang member of things than a sober one.
"What do you mean?" Marley asked, although she already knew. This could be easier to get a confession than they'd anticipated.
"You know. The shootings and shit that been happening on our turf." A member she hadn't been introduced to said.
"They were you guys?"
"Dumb shit how many times have I told you they were us? Bitch is dumber than I thought." Ryan snarled whilst aggressively grabbing her chin and pulling her head to his, kissing her violently on the lips. She tried to gasp out so the police would know she had had enough, but he only grabbed her by the throat and pulled her closer.Marley felt Ryan's hand openly exploring her body and just allowed him to do it. That was until she felt his hand slip under her jacket and towards her bra strap. That was where Erin had attached the wire to. It all happened so quickly. He tore his hand out of her jacket and with it brought the wire. Everyone in the room stood up.
"Y-You! YOU LYING SNITCH!" Ryan screamed as he stamped on the wire. Marley's eyes widened. Surely Antonio would come soon. The wire had been broken. She needed help. Her breathing increased. All seven people that were in the room began to aggressively beat her, Ryan being the ring leader of it all. Slowly they began to disperse, and run out the back door. Where were they? It happened in slow motion next. Caleb was all who was left. Sirens flashed through the window. Marley expected him to run like the rest of them, and leave her to herself. But that didn't happen. As the door to the house was bashed in, the four officers who had promised to keep her safe burst through the door. Caleb quickly pulled out his gun, and in an instant two shots were fired.
One bullet pierced Caleb's skull.
The other came out of Caleb's gun, and into Marley's chest.
