Marley felt numb. Numb of all but two feelings- pain and fear. The only other thing she could feel was Nadia's hand in hers, holding tightly. Whilst she was grateful for having Nadia there, it only reminded her that this was real- it was happening.
The man hovering above her, his face a mere few inches from hers, smiled at Marley. She had hoped and prayed that he would have worn a mask, or she would have been forced to wear a blindfold, but the man, who she had learned was called Greg, wanted her to see him.
They were laid side by side behind a metal crate near the beach. It was completely abandoned. He had gagged them both just to be safe.
After a day of continuous and brutal assaults on the pair, he sat them both in the back seat of the car and faced them. He brandished a knife from the glove box. Both girls felt their heart rate quicken.
"I have some... devastating news." He began, wiping his eyes as he spoke. "Unfortunately, only one of you can continue this journey with me. The other will be, well, you can probably guess." He grimaced. Nadia and Marley's hands were still entwined.

There were a few moments of silence. Before either could react, Greg had opened the back door where Nadia was and had dragged her out of the car. Nadia stayed submissive and quiet, she knew she was about to die, and this meant Marley was going to live. Marley, however, couldn't help but feel jealous as she yelled through the gag in her mouth. She didn't want either of them to be killed, but Nadia was going to have the suffering ended- Marley knew this meant it was going to get twice as bad then she may get killed anyway. She wasn't giving up- she had faith and trust in both the Intelligence (who she knew would be searching relentlessly to find them), and she knew Kelly and the rest of Firehouse 51 would be doing everything they could. But she just wanted this to end. She wanted the pain to stop.

2 more days passed. He had kept her in the boot for well over 12 hours now. She was too scared to sleep, despite how weak and tired she was. She was cold, hungry, thirsty and most of all in pain. Whilst the lack of contact in the past 12 hours was something of a relief, it was unnerving. If he had got bored, why had he just left her? Was he going to leave her to starve to death? Her throat was so dry it was raw. Her thoughts raced around her mind at an uncontrollable rate.
They were interrupted by the trunk being opened. The sudden exposure of light left her blinded for a moment, but when her eyes came into focus once more, relief wasn't even what she felt. Pure joy was more accurate. Kelly immediately embraced her, crying out of shock at the state she was in and out of joy that they had found her. It wasn't long before the situation got to Marley, and before long she had drifted into blackness. Blissfully unaware of the pain her body was in, and her thoughts finally silenced.
