Voight had given Marley an idea of what she should wear whilst working with them. Whilst jewelry was allowed, Marley decided to leave her locket at home. There was no way of telling what they would do, and if she lost it or someone stole it she would be heartbroken. Everyone left for work, Antonio picking up Marley, and only Devin was home.
Throughout the day, Erin and Jay lead her through the different processes and she was allowed to watch an interrogation. But nothing too major happened. At least not until she got home. Both Jay and Antonio were taking her home, and pulled up outside the apartment.
"Is that your door that's open?" Jay asked, frowning. Marley nodded, looking confused.
"That's weird. They never leave the door open." Antonio and Jay got out of the car too at this point.
"It's probably nothing, but what sort of people would we be if we let you go up there alone?" Antonio pointed out, and Marley smiled thankfully at them.
When they approached the door, they could hear talking. Thankfully, she recognised it to be Kelly's voice. She rushed into the apartment and looked around her, seeing the place virtually wrecked and obvious items missing. Antonio called out, and Matt, Kelly and Otis all rushed through.
"Is everyone okay?" Jay asked, as they came into view.
"It was Devin." Kelly said through gritted teeth. Marley's stomach dropped at this. She ran to her room to see it trashed.
"No, no, no," she whispered, pulling open the drawer and seeing her laptop missing, as well as her tickets to the game. A thought suddenly hit her, and she ran down to the kitchen counter again, almost knocking over Matt in the process. Her heart dropped and her eyes watered.
"My necklace!" She cried out. Angrily, she turned to face Shay who had made an appearance.
"How could you! We all told you she was bad news, you insisted she was to stay with us, so Kelly agreed because he's scared to death of loosing you again!" She shouted. Shay put her head down, and Kelly rested his hand on her arm.
"That's enough Marls."
"No! It's not enough! This is all your fault! If you'd have listened to us in the first place, we wouldn't be in this mess! She's been nothing but trouble since you first met her! Seriously Shay! You said she'd be no trouble, and now she's stolen our things. How can you be okay with that?!" She shouted at Shay accusingly. No one spoke for a while, knowing Marley was right. Rolling her eyes, she stormed to her room.
"Babe, what are you doing?" Kelly called as he and Matt followed her. She had a bag out and was putting clothes in it.
"I'm not staying here. She might come back, she might have other people, and I don't want to see Shay right now." She said sharply.
"Sweetie, she won't come back, and even if she did, she'd have to go through all of us before she did anything to hurt anyone." Matt said.
"I don't care. I feel bad for shouting at Shay but I know if I see her I'll just say it again. Please, just for tonight. I'll go anywhere, I just can't be here tonight!" She cried, getting worked up and she could feel her heart beginning to pound with anxiety. Kelly could see she was getting worked up, and put his hands up.
"Okay, okay. You can stay somewhere else. But only for tonight, then we need to sit and talk about what's happened, okay?" Kelly spoke sternly, and Marley knew the last part wasn't a question, so she just nodded and called Herrmann.
"You know how you said if I ever need anything?" She asked as soon as he'd picked up. He chuckled.
"What can I do for you?"
After a quick conversation with Kelly, Christopher turned to Marley and grinned widely.
"You're in luck- Cindy and the kids are in Arizona for a week visiting family, so it's just you and me and no screaming children!" He joked, and she grinned playfully, whilst hugging him.
"Lucky me." She joked back.
"Hey!" He yelled as they got in the car. "You eaten yet?" Marley shook her head. "Wanna order a pizza?"
Marley loved Herrmann, and she found a sort of father figure in him that she sometimes didn't in Kelly. He looked out for her, and even if she was wrong he still supported her, and they had never argued over anything. Marley put that down to Herrmann being a father of five already, and married, whereas Kelly was a single father living with his lesbian friend and two work mates plus a teenage girl. She was so thankful for her relationship with Herrmann, and knew she could count on him no matter what.
