After the deal was sealed, the cutie mark crusader princesses helped Rainbow Dash and Rarity sneak out of the castle by making bear noises, making Big Mac, and the other ponies go in the different direction. Rarity looked at her three daughters while feeling worried. "They'll be fine." Rainbow Dash said. "Won't you, fillies?" "We'll be okay." Scootaloo said. "Mom, we've got to hurry!" Rainbow Dash said as she began pushing her mother out the door. She looked at her sisters, and said "Now, I'll be back soon. Go on, and help yourself to anything as a reward." As soon as she left, the cutie mark crusader princesses turned to see half-eaten strawberry jam-filled cake as Sweetie Belle said "Ooh! Cake!" They took a bite, and they started to turn into bear cubs as Apple Bloom said "Ah think we just did a major uh-oh." "Gee, you think?" Scootaloo asked sarcasticly. After they left Canterlot, Rainbow Dash and Rarity took off into the Everfree Forest. Once they arrived, Rainbow Dash looked around as she said "Where are these wisps? Come out wisps. Come on out! Lead me to Zecora's cottage! I'm here!" She then got frustrated as she said "Fine, don't come out now that my mom's watching!"

Rarity stared at her daughter in confusion as Rainbow Dash said "I was standing here, and the wisp appeared right here! Then, a whole trail of them led me off into the Everfree Forest!" Rarity then started to walk off as Rainbow Dash muttered "Does she think that I just happened upon a zebra's cottage?" After walking for a while in the Everfree Forest, they suddenly stopped as Rainbow Dash looked around, and said "Oh, mom! I know this place. Zecora's cottage is this way! Come on! Hurry!" She ran ahead, and she found Zecora's cottage. "I can't believe it! I found it!" She said. She ran to the cottage door, and opened it, only to find it completely empty. She gasped, and said "No! She was here! No, really! She was just here! Oh, wait!" She closed the door, and stomped on her hoof a couple of times. She opened the door, but the cottage was still empty. She kept opening and closing the door as she said "No! No! No! No!" They walked inside, and accidently set off a rube goldberg machine which brought up Zecora's cauldron with a ghostly image of the zebra.

"Welcome to the Crafty Carver, home of the bear carvings and novelties." Zecora's image said. "I am completely out of stock at this time, but if you'd like to inquire about a portrait or wedding cake topper, pour vial one into the cauldron. If you'd like a bedouin garlic, vial two. If you're that pegasai princess, vial three." As Zecora's image disappeared, Rainbow Dash quickly poured vial three into the cauldron. Zecora's image appeared, and said "Princess, I'm off to the Wickerpony's festival in Manehatten. I won't be back till spring. There's one bit I forgot to tell you about the spell. By the second sunrise, your spell will be pernament, unless you remember these words: Fate be changed, look inside. Mend the bond torn by pride." "Fate be changed?" Rainbow Dash asked. "Mend the bond? What does that mean?" "One more time." Zecora's image said. "Fate be changed, look inside. Mend the bond torn by pride. That's it! Ta-da! Oh, and thank you for shopping at the Crafty Carver." The image disappeared as Rainbow Dash said "No! No! Where did you go?!" She started pouring more potions into the cauldron in a state of panic while Zecora's image appeared to give her the same message. The cauldron started bubbling as Rainbow Dash and Rarity ran out of the cottage. The cauldron then blew up, and the cottage disappeared into thin air.
