My Little Brave

Chapter 5

At the castle backyard, all of the ponies were watching some ponies play all sorts of games. Like cable toss, stone put, and tug a war. Some ponies were watching a group of mares dancing. Some ponies were playing music, and one of the musicians got hit in the head with a ball when some ponies were playing with it. Some foals were wacking a bear made out of straw as if they were playing with a pinata. On the top of a small tent, the cutie mark crusader princesses were trying to get the pies from the plate Coco Pommel was holding onto. Apple Bloom tied a rope around Scootaloo's waist as Sweetie Belle tied the end of the rope to the pole of the tent. "I'm ready." Scootaloo said. "If this works, we may get our cuite marks!" Sweetie Belle said. "Let's hope so." Apple Bloom said. Scootaloo jumped down, took a pie, and Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle pulled her up as Coco Pommel turned around to find nothing, and turned the plate away. Scootaloo jumped down again, and stuffed some pies into her mouth as Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle pulled her back up. Scootaloo jumped down, but this time, Coco Pommel moved her plate away, and the cutie mark crusader princesses screamed as the rope broke loose, and the fell into a barrel.

Coco Pommel placed the plate on top of the barrel, and said "Now, I have told you, you're not allowed to-!" She yelped when the cutie mark crusader princesses ran off with the barrel and the plate of pies. Coco Pommel chased them through the tents as Scootaloo popped her head out, took a bite of one of the pies, and waved. Then Coco Pommel quickly became exhausted, and gave up chasing them. Suddenly, somepony blew the long horn as the dogs howled in response. As the targets had been arranged, Big Mac stood from his chair in the stand, and said "It's time!" Fancy Pants, Flash Sentry, and Dr. Whooves were giving each other dirty looks at each other as Rarity said "Archers, to your marks!" "Eeyup!" Big Mac said. "Archers, to..to your marks!" "And may the lucky arrow find it's target!" Rarity said. Rainbow Dash chuckled quietly as she moved her bow and arrows to the back of her seat to keep her mother from seeing them. The crowd cheered as Sunset Glare and Soarin got ready to shoot their arrows, and Hayseed Turnip Truck was playing the bow string like a harp. "Oi! Get on with it!" Big Mac said. Soarin then walked a few inches, aimed his arrow, and fired. The arrow hit the edge of the target as the crowd booed, and Soarin grunted in frustration. Flash Sentry hoofpalmed himself in disappointment.

Feeling pleased, Rainbow Dash looked at her father, and said "I bet he wishes he was tossing cabers." "Or holding up bridges." Big Mac said as he and Rainbow Dash giggled, and Rarity hit her husband in the shoulder. Sunset Glare took a deep breath as he held his bow and arrow with his magic, aimed, and fired. The arrow missed the center of the target. The crowd booed as Sunset Glare said "NOOO! AAAHH!" "At least you hit the target, son!" Fancy Pants said. As Sunset Glare started throwing a tantrum, Rainbow Dash sarcastically said "Oh, that's attractive." Sunset Glare threw his arrow, and sompony caught it as he said "I got it!" Rainbow Dash looked at her father, and said "Good hoof!" "And such lovely flowing locks." Big Mac said. "Big Mac!" Rarity said firmly. "What?" Big Mac asked. Hayseed Turnip Truck struggled to hold the bow as Dr. Hooves gasped in dismay. Hayseed Turnip Truck got one of the arrows, and he tried to get it ready. "Oh, wee lamb." Rainbow Dash said in a mocking tone. Hayseed Turnip Truck prepared to aim, but the arrow was going the wrong way. So he tried again, but the arrow moved again. Big Mac hoofpalmed himself, and said "Oh, come on! Shoot, colt!" His voice startled Hayseed Turnip Truck, and he accidently shot the arrow to the center of the target.

Everypony cheered as Dr. Whooves cheered. Fancy Pants and Flash Sentry just stared in shock. "Well done! Well done!" Dr. Whooves said to his son as he did a victory dance. He then showed his flank to Fancy Pants and Flash Sentry as he said "Feast your eyes!" Fancy Pants and Flash Sentry looked away as they groaned in disgust. "That's my colt!" Dr. Whooves said smiling at Hayseed Turnip Truck. Big Mac stared in shock as he looked at his wife, and said "Well, that's just grand, isn't it? Guess who's coming to dinner?" "Big Mac!" Rarity said. "By the way, hope you don't mind being called Lady Turnip-." Big Mac tried to say to Rainbow Dash, but he stared in shock as he saw one of the dogs sitting on Rainbow Dash's chair. Everypony looked out into the field to see somepony putting up a banner for Canterlot. The hooded pony took off her hood to reveal herself as Rainbow Dash, and she said "I am Rainbow Dash! First born descendent of Clan Canterlot! And I'll be shooting for my own hoof!" The clan lords gasped in shock, and they turn to look at Big Mac and Rarity. "What are you doing, darling?!" Rarity asked in shock as she stood up from her seat. Rainbow Dash tired to aim with her bow and arrow, but her dress was to tight for her to pull. "Rainbow Dash!" Rarity said. "Curse this dress!" Rainbow Dash said. She finally tore her dress so that she could finally aim. She fired her arrow at the first target and it hit the bullseye.

The crowd gasped as Rarity said "Rainbow Dash, stop this!" As the queen started to walk over to Rainbow Dash, the princess took out another, and fired it. The arrow hit the second target's bullseye as Rarity said "Don't you DARE loose another arrow!" Rainbow Dash ignored her mother as she loved to the third target, and prepared to fire. She took a deep breath as Rarity said "Rainbow Dash, I FORBID IT!" She took another deep breath, and fired her arrow as the crowd looked on in shock. The arrow hit the bullseye, slicing through the arrow that Hayseed Turnip Truck fired earlier. Rainbow Dash smiled, and then turned to glare at Rarity who just glared back.
