PLACE: Professor’s Dormitory specifically outside the Headmaster’s room.
“How is she?” asked Chantele to Jane in her usual dull voice. The gloomy ambiance of the corridor is exaggerating Chantele’s flat affect face. The sunset’s rays are doing its best to peek to every slight opening of the big and heavy curtains covering the extensive windows of that place.
“Headmaster Caitlainne is stable now. But… you mustn’t enter.”
Chantele’s eyebrows crossed. “Why?”
Jane looked down before answering. “Chantele… she’s—‘’
“She’s not here for your hundred questions Chantele.” Ani Clyde na bigla na lamang dumating sa lugar na iyon.
Lalong lumunot ang bibihirang kumunot na noo ni Chantele. “What are you doing here Clyde?”
“I know what you are about to do. You will ask the Headmaster a lot of questions. And I’m here to stop you for doing that.”
Chantele walks straight palapit kay Clyde. Bahagya pang napaurong ang lalaki dahil sa sobrang seryoso ng mukha ni Chantele.
“Tell me, does the end of this world doesn’t concern you?”
Nagbaba ng tingin si Clyde. “I get it… that you’re trying to save this world. But she’s in no condition to answer your questions. Even if she’s strong… she’s just too fragile for now. And I’ve never seen her… this… weak.”
“Her body is weak. But her mind and soul are still intact. Are you saying that Master Caitlainne is a weakling?”
“No! Ofcoarse not! What I’m trying to say is—‘’
“She’s not that weak and I don’t come all the way here para itaboy mo. I need answers now. You know what happened in the Library right? So if that doesn’t concern you… you can start packing and I’m going to deliver you to the other side of the world. It seems like you doesn’t care about this world much than I do.” Mahabang litanilya ni Chantele at may pamemewang pang nalalaman. Doon na pumagitna sa usapan si Jane na kanina pa nagtatangkang sumingit sa pagtatalo ng dalawa.
“Hey… hey.. c’mon you two. This isn’t the time to fight okay? You two should both calm down.” Pagaawat niya sa mga ito. She can perfectly understand how this two feels right now because they are both the Headmaster’s most trusted students. Caitlainne treated this two like her very own children that’s why many students in their batch envied this two. The Headmaster only chooses a student who is worthy to teach and out of many fairies trying to impress her only two caught the Headmaster’s attention after many years of waiting. Ayon kasi sa balita ang huling naging estudyante ng Headmaster ay namatay na and after that wala na itong nakitang estudyante na lelebel sa tinuruan nito noon. Until she saw this two precious student. Clyde and Chantele are like hot and cold. Magkaibang magkaiba kasi ang ugali ng dalawa. Clyde is as soft as a cotton, kaya nga noong malaman nito ang nangyari sa Headmaster, kahit nasa kabilang lupalop ito ng University ay inabala pa nito ang sarili na pumunta at personal na magbantay kay Caitlainne. On the other hand, Chantele is as hard as a rock and as frozen as an ice. She is always the one who breaks the rules and law in the University pero may tamang katwiran naman ito kapag ginagawa nito iyon. She is the only person who can have a perfect and right excuse to everything. Like when they are about to cut down the oldest tree in the University, the Wisteria Tree na humaharang sa bagong building na itatayo sa lugar. Cutting down a tree in the fairy’s world takes a lot of paper works to be done. Kailangan munang dumaan sa madami at matinding debatihan bago makapagputol ng puno and since the old tree is weak and it looks dead already the higher ups approved the cut down. Chantele disagree with that. Iyon ang kauna-unahang pagkakataon that she and the Headmaster saw a new born hero. What she saw back then was not this straight face fairy she’s looking at now. What she saw was an innocent but full of conviction little fairy facing all the huge apparatuses to cut down the Wisteria Tree.
