Chapter Twelve

Ruby just stood still crying, she didn't know what to do, Aldo was holding her tightly and there was no way she could break free.
Alvarez left where he was staying and walked towards the body on the floor, silence filled the room, the children were all scared and none of the men dared make a move cos they knew there was going to be a confrontation between the Delgado brothers.
"Get the children to the car" Alvarez spoke slowly but no one moved an inch.
Get the damn children to the car now " Alvarez roared.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?, we don't take care of children man" Aldo shouted at him. Alvarez ignored him, while Francesco led the children out to one of the vehicles they brought. Ruby freed her hand and ran to meet Alvarez who was by Rufina's body. "Do something alvs, save her" she said sobbing
"She's dead and gone, they never belonged here " Aldo shouted at Ruby. Ruby got up from where she was and went towards Aldo. "I hate you, I detest you" she spat at him.
"Do you think I care?"
"You're not human, you're a beast Al..... Aldo slapped her hard before she could finish which sent her flying to the ground, the next thing she knew was Aldo was down and Alvarez was on him sending him punches,she wanted to separate them cos she knew it was gonna be bloody but she couldn't, her strength failed so she crawled to where Rufina and velvet were, she touched Rufina and didn't feel any pulse but she felt some pulse when she touched velvet, she wanted to tell Alvarez but she knew Aldo might want to finish what he started so she used the opportunity that they were fighting and tore part of her cloth she was wearing to try to control the bleeding. "Fabian is on his way and he is reinforcing, our men won't be able to stand them" Francesco said as he entered, hearing those words Alvarez stopped punching him and got up, his hands was covered with blood, Aldo face was badly swollen but Alvarez also had few bruises. Aldo managed to get up and left angrily with one of the cars they brought Without the others.
"Lead the others out France " Alvarez ordered Francesco while turning to his sister "go with him"
"S-she's alive, the child is alive alvs call 911" Ruby said sobbing
"Ruby go with him now, we have limited time " Alvarez said much louder
"I said she's alive alvs, can't you do something?" Ruby shouted at him
"And what the hell do you want me to do?, call 911?,do you know how many bodies are here?"
"A-are you gonna let her die?"
"Ruby don't be stubborn, Fabian Is gonna attack once he gets back then we all are done for, think of those other kids please " Alvarez said pleadingly
"S-she saved me" Ruby said crying again.
Alvarez couldn't stand it so he signaled to Francesco to take her out which he did. Alvarez knew he had limited time and could only save one of them and since velvet still had a pulse and was breathing although it was shallow he decided to save her, tears filled his eyes as he left Rufina behind, he betrayed the woman he loved, he couldn't stand up for her, he should never had brought her along he kept thinking to himself, if he didn't she wouldn't have ended that way.
Alvarez got back home two days later, he saw Luciana in the sitting room but he ignored her and went directly up to where he knew his father would be. His hair was rough and his eyes were red that was cos he didn't sleep the past two days, he drained himself in alcohol, he hated himself before but now it was more.Alvarez just like Oscar never wanted to be in the Mafia but his father would lock him up and torture him for days in order to get him used to being one, that was where he got all his scars from, there was a particular occasion where he was stripped and tied in the basement, he had almost lost it if not for Francesco who helped him. He barged into the office and met the two devils laughing. "Hey we thought you disappeared also" Aldo said when he noticed Alvarez.
Alvarez ignored him and went to his father "do you have any sense of human in you?" He asked his father with bitterness in his voice
"You should focus on your wife son, you're married now" his father said calmly
"To hell with the marriage, I never said I wanted to, why did you kill her?" Alvarez demanded
"And what do you expect me to do? Sit down and watch my son ruin his life over a nobody and none of their bodies were found, I hope you didn't do something stupid?"
"He shot them so he should be responsible for that "
"You should be happy now that she's out of your life, go face your wife"
"Do you think you have the right to talk to be about that?, after cheating and murdering my mother" Alvarez spat at him.
Leornado stood up surprise ,he didn't know Alvarez knew about the murder of his wife Adriana, Aldo also was shocked at the revelation. "What did you just say Alvarez?" Also demanded.
"Exactly what I said he killed mother " Alvarez replied him feeling irritated
"You did it Alvarez, you were the last person that was seen with her" Aldo yelled at him
"Why not shut up and let him talk Aldo" Alvarez snapped at him
"Did you kill mu.....
"I did and so what?, she wanted to run away with a man and.....
"She never cheated on you, I'll not have you disrespect her, you were a serial cheater and you still are, you didn't want her to expose you "
"Enough Alvarez, you have no rights to question me" Leonard said obviously angry.
"Sure i don't cos you're never gonna control my life again am leaving and leaving for good" Alvarez said before storming out of the room.
