Chapter Seventeen

*Flashback*
"Ruffy, Ruffy" he pushed her slightly yet there was no movement, he couldn't believe that this was happening, he saw it all, he saw Aldo pulling the trigger yet he couldn't do anything to stop him.
"Boss we have to go, she's dead we are not much and if we stay any further we might be out numbered"
"Carry her to the car"
"Boss?"
"Now" he ordered
Having no other option he carried her to the car. " is there any evidence?"
"No, the cctv is out but their men are approaching"
"Good let's get going"
"I thought you wanted the child?"
"We'll make do with her for now"
"But......
"No buts, we have to leave now"
With that they entered the car and zoomed off
"What should we do to the body?"
"Keep it in the room"
"But she's.....
"Don't question me Damian, do as you are told" he ordered
"Yes boss" and with that he went up.
Few hours later, her body was dressed up and was about to be taken to the morgue when she moved her index finger, Damian quickly went to inform his boss.
"I think she's alive, she just moved her index finger and her pulse and breathing are quite weak"
"Get doctor Williams immediately, take her to the building clinic"
"Yes boss"
Damian quickly leaves and went to move her body to the clinic, few minutes later doctor Williams who was near by came and examined her.
"How is she?"
"Very critical, its a miracle she survived, you have to move her to the hospital now"
"No, I want her treated here "
"You know it's not possible, it's a gun shot wound here and she needs at least two surgeries to save her and the baby"
"Baby?"
"Yes, she's pregnant"
"I pay you doctor Williams so you have to do as I say, i want it done here"
"As you say, but i can't guarantee you anything"
"Just get to work now and save her" he shouted.
Doctor Williams nodded his head before going. He went straight to the clinic where Rufina was, he didn't Know how she survived cos the bullets were three and she had lost a lot of blood already and also she was pregnant, it was definitely a miracle he thought to himself as he started the operation.
It's been five hours since doctor Williams started the operation yet he wasn't out, nurses were going in and out with blood packs, he wondered what was happening in there. He didn't know she was pregnant, he came back just for her to correct all the wrongs he had done and now he couldn't. He kept on praying silently that she survived cos he wanted her forgiveness badly, he wasn't happy with the life he led before and he definitely wasn't happy with the life he was living now but there are things you can't change and it's best to leave something's as they are than try to change them.
After about eight hours doctor Williams finally came out looking exhausted.
"How's she?"
"She had an internal bleeding but we've bin able to control it, the only problem is the foetus, it's weak and it might affect the mother"
"Can't you get rid of it?"
"Abortion is illegal, performing it without the patients consent is criminal"
"And what do you care?,do as you are told, get rid of the child"
"No, he won't do that" a feminine voice said behind
"What the hell do you want now Leila?" He asked angrily
She ignored him and went to the doctor "you're not gonna do that, continue with the treatment, i no she will survive it, she's a strong woman"
"Sure miss, I'll be on my way then"
Leila nodded her head before turning to her brother while the doctor walked out.
"Leila" he called angrily
"Will you stop it, I didn't know you were still as heartless as before"
"For crying out loud, she's gonna be in danger cos of that child"
"Is that why you really want to do it?,or cos it's not your child?"
"Why should I save that bastard's child?"
"Nothing must happen to that child, if you really are sorry for what you did you must make sure the child survive no matter what or else I'll never forgive you" with that she storms out of the room.
She was right, he wanted to get rid of the child cos of him but it wasn't really the child's fault, a child doesn't have the right to choose the kind of parent they want cos if they do many children won't be living a miserable life now.
Two weeks later
"She's awake but it'll take time before she get used to her environment" doctor Williams told Leila
"Did she lose her memory?"
"No, it's due to shock, just give her few days or weeks she'll come around"
"Thanks doctor I'll go see her now"
"Where's he?"
"He went on a trip, he'll be back in three weeks time or a month, am not sure"
"I'll come and check on her tomorrow"
The doctor leaves while Leila went to check on her, she looked pale and her hair was scattered but she was still as beautiful as the first time they met, she remembered how she helped her when she slipped and fell, those memory brought tears to her eyes, she couldn't look at her directly in the eyes cos she didn't do anything to help her when she needed her.

So I decided to bring Ruffy back, who missed her?

She didn't die miraculously but her body was taken....

So who can guess who took her and what he plans on doing with her?
