Chapter Nineteen

Leornado slapped Marcus again "how could you guys lose her?"
"Am sorry sir?"
"Sorry for yourself, a mere woman escaped from you and you're telling me sorry?"
"Dad!" Aldo called out to his father
"Am so disappointed in you Aldo"
"For crying out loud, I was shot, aren't you happy seeing me back?"
"What's the use of you coming back when you lost the document"
"Are you trying to say the document is more important than me?" Aldo asked angrily
Leonardo didn't reply him he just left angrily.
"Where's Amalia?" Aldo asked Marcus when leornado left.
"In the staff quarters"
"Go get her?"
"Is everything okay?"
"Since when did you start questioning me?"
"Am sorry" Marcus said before leaving. Few minutes later he came back with Amalia.
"I want to be alone with her" Aldo said to Marcus. He nodded his head before leaving.
"Lock the door" Aldo said while seating up
"Why should I lock it?" Amalia asked raising a brow
"Because I told you to, don't you ever learn?, never question my authority" Aldo barked at her
Feeling scared she went to lock the door but before she could turn Aldo was behind her.
"W-what are you d-doing?" She stammered
"Where were you in the past few days?"
"I-i-i was off"
Aldo left her back as he felt a sharp pain in his back, his wounds were not yet properly healed, Amalia quickly helped him steady up and took him to his bed, she was about to leave when Aldo suddenly pulled her hand and tore the sleeves of the dress she was wearing and there he saw it, a fresh wound at the same spot he threw the lamp stand. "Where did you get this from?" He asked looking at her directly in the eyes
"I-i tripped and fell" Amalia said avoiding his gaze
"Will you stop stammering and look at me in the eyes" Aldo shouted at her still holding her hand "Who are you?,Are you a spy?" Aldo said tightening his hold on her
"You are hurting me" Amalia said while trying to control the tears in her eyes from falling
"And I'll hurt you even more"Aldo said while tightening her hand even more
Having no other choice she used her spare hand to yank herself free, Aldo stood up to chase after her but he didn't see the stand that was there, he fell over it and he immediately felt the sharp pain in his leg. Marcus hearing Aldo's voice immediately started banging the door. Amalia went to open the door, Marcus seeing his boss on the floor pushed Amalia away and quickly rushed to him.
"Go call the nurse?" Marcus ordered as he helped Aldo up.
"She'll treat me" Aldo answered
"But she.....
He stopped half way when he saw Aldo looking at him
"You can leave"
Marcus looked at his boss for some few seconds before leaving the room while Amalia got up from the floor she was.
"The kit Is in the bathroom" Aldo said softly which made Amalia looked surprised. "The bathroom" Aldo said again pointing to the door. She quickly nodded her head before slowly going to the bathroom to get the kit.
"Why did you help me?" Aldo said slowly as Amalia cleaned the blood
"I-i don't know what you're talking about " Amalia said almost like a whisper
"You had the opportunity to get back at me but you didn't"
"Am done" Amalia said as she packed the contents back inside the kit. "Mendez, he's your father right?" Aldo asked her making her stop half way.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Aldo asked again
Amalia still didn't reply him
"Why not speak up" Aldo said getting irritated.
Amalia slowly turned to face him with tears in her eyes "you're gonna get rid of me now right?" Amalia asked looking at him directly for the first time
"Where is he?"
"I don't know?"
"Do you expect me to believe that?" He snapped at her.
"I know you don't and am not asking you to, he left me and my mom but I couldn't let him get killed like that cos I wanted to show him I made it without him" Amalia said breaking down in tears. Aldo felt moved seeing her in tears off course he had seen different women in tears but who cares?, he was good looking and tall also but not as tall as Alvarez, his hair was blond and his eyes was emerald, leornado always said that he looked just like his mother.
"Where are the documents?"
"Am not giving them to you"
"Don't be stubborn and hand them over"
"Never, he has documents that could incriminate my father, tell him to release them"
"Do you think my father would be this calm with you, I want the documents now or else.....
"Or else what?,you're gonna get rid of me?,I don't really care"
"You'll do as I say" Aldo said angrily
"No I'll do as I please" with that she storms out of the room.
