Chapter Twenty -Three

"That bastard" Alvarez said throwing the letter away
"Oscar you mean?" Anna asked as Alvarez stared at him surprised
"You know him?"
"Kind off"
"He's got them"
"He won't hurt her"
"Ruby or velvet?,he might not hurt velvet but i can't be sure about Ruby"
"So what does he want?"
"To see me"
"Then go see him"
"In Mars or Jupiter?, he didn't leave an address Anna " Alvarez said angrily
"Then you have to wait for him to get in touch"
"Wait?, wait you say?, how did he get access to the venue cos the security was tight" Alvarez said angrily
Alvarez for crying out loud this is not gonna help you, he's not gonna harm them i know that" Anna said trying to calm her down.
Francesco enters and hands Alvarez a note which changed his facial expression immediately.
"She's alive" Francesco finally said.
"Then why didn't she show up all this while?" Alvarez said
"Am not sure but she's currently hiding somewhere and it's kind of difficult to locate her"
"Find her, I don't want excuses" Alvarez said getting frustrated
"Francesco can you go be with Lucy a bit?" Anna said calmly
Francesco looked at Alvarez who didn't look back at him "I think I should go now I need to intensify the search"
"Okay then" Anna replied him before he left.
Anna went over to Alvarez and sat down besides him "i know how you're feeling but trust me it's gonna be alright"
"Why can't the past remain?, why does it have to show up at unexpected times?"
"Your past is something you can't change so leave it at that, you're not responsible for her death or disappearance, you saved her daughter, you're a good man and many women are dying to be with you so know that" Anna said stroking his cheeks. Alvarez just remained there not moving he really needed this comfort right now, he wished he had stopped his father all along and now he regretted not doing so, he laid down on her leg falling asleep, he hasn't really slept for the past months trying to train his men and possible evident that Rufina was alive. Alvarez was asleep now so Anna took off his jacket and his shoe not knowing Luciana was watching her, she was about to get up when she finally saw her, she placed his head gently on the sofa before getting up while Luciana ran up in tears to her room looking the door crying, Anna went after her and knocked on her door. Luciana open this damn door now" Anna yelled
Luciana finally opened the door "what do you want?" She asked wiping the tears from her face
"Don't tell me you were jealous?"Anna said teasingly
"Why should I be?" Luciana said trying to hide her expression
"You shouldn't behave bitchy you know?, after being cozy with Francesco"Anna said smirking
Luciana raised her brow "d-did you.....
"Why not?, I saw you guys and so did everyone at the party"
"He's angry with me right?"
"You're confused Lucy, you like him yes but you love Frances so quit it"
"Then do you love him?" Luciana snapped at her
"Get a life Lucy, am married"
"To?"
"Fabian, Fabian Jimenez"
"W-what?, his wife killed their only child and committed suicide"
"Wow, what a story, didn't know you were so naive, i didn't kill my child nor kill myself, am here standing before you"
"I can't believe this, what else are you hiding?"
"Don't change the topic here, stop tying yourself down to him, enjoy your life"
"They are friends"
"That's why he hasn't touched you"
"So in other words you want me to divorce my husband?"
"No, I want you to use your head, follow your heart and stop playing the jealous wife role it doesn't suit you" Anna said smiling
"Thanks and am sorry"
"You're welcome" Anna said hugging her.

"Uncle Oscar, why are we here?" Velvet innocently asks
"Don't you wanna stay with me?" Oscar said stroking her hair
"I do but what of aunt Ruby?"
"She's okay" Oscar said trying to hide his anger
"I want to see her and uncle alvy"
"Uncle alvy?" Oscar said angrily
"Yes" velvet said nodding her head not noticing the change in Oscar.
"Stay here I'll be back soon" Oscar said dropping her on the bed.
Oscar left to the room and went to the basement Ruby was kept, when he got there he saw her hands and legs tied and saw that she was blind folded, although he told them to keep her in the basement he told them not to lay a hand on her. He went to her and started to unbind the rope "s-stop it, w-who are you?" Ruby said
"Will you shut it" Oscar snapped at her
"Oscar"
Oscar stiffened a bit when he heard her calling his name
"Oscar" Ruby called again
Oscar removed the blindfold from her eyes which was red by now.
"Where's velvet and why am I here?"
"You're here cos i want you to"
"Alvarez's not gonna forgive you for this"
"Really?" Oscar said raising a brow "Alvarez is not here now, I can do what ever I want and with you inclusive"
"Where's velvet?"
"Stop asking as if you care when you don't"
"What makes you think I don't?"
"After killing her?, why doesn't the Delgado's have a bit of pride" Oscar said angrily
"Is this about me or Delgado?"
"You're one aren't you?" Oscar snapped at her
"Would things be different if I wasn't?, would you treat me differently if I wasn't?"
Oscar thought to himself, would he he really treat her differently if she wasn't a part of the Delgado?, the Delgado's had really hurt his family in time past  and he had sworn never to have anything to do with them but there was always a bromance between him and Alvarez.
"The maid will bring your food and some clothes for you to change into" Oscar said standing up.
"Why are you avoiding my question?" Ruby said angrily
"It's not about you being a Delgado, even if you weren't one things would still be the same" Oscar said before walking out, he knew it was a lie cos ever since he set his eyes on her, her image never left his head.
