Chapter 13: Valentines Day (The Actual Lemon)

You've been back in Gibraltar for a couple of weeks since you left South Korea with your new fiancé, Hana Song. News of the proposal went by pretty fast and everyone at Overwatch congratulated you. However, just because you two were engaged didn't mean you guys got to rest. You had to do missions. It was your job, after all.

The first mission you didn't do too much. All you did was do a taco run for Winston. The second mission, however, you actually had some action. Unfortunately, it was on Valentine's Day, and it ruined your plans.

"Really Winston? Today?" You say.

"Yes. I know it's Valentine's Day, but we still have a job to do. What were your plans anyway?" Winston says, a bit curious.

"I was going to take Hana out for dinner and a movie. Maybe we'd exchange gifts and...you know. See where the night takes us."

"If we finish the mission quickly, you may still have a chance. Now, get suited up and join us in the hangar. I'm looking forward to seeing you in action."

You two salute and you head to your room to get ready. Hana is already in her battle suit and is putting on her headset before she sees you.

"So are you ready player two?" She asks.

"Guess so. I was hoping we wouldn't have to fight today of all days." You say.

"It's fine. We'll just have to do dinner and a movie some other day. Now get your backpack on."

"You've got it"

You two quickly kiss and you get suited up. You two walk together to the hangar and board the dropjet. Mercy, Reinhardt, Winston, Pharah, Genji, and Mei are already there.

"Everyone's here. Let's get moving. We're losing daylight." Winston says.

The ride to Ilios is fairly quiet save for talking strategy and a bit of small talk amongst your peers. You were pretty anxious about how you would perform in the mission. You had practiced a lot in simulations with Hana and several other people, but this was the real deal.

You land by some ruins and Athena initiates the cloaking device, making the ship invisible. Hana steps into her mech and you take two shards out of your backpack. You all sneak into a space for cover.

"Alright. Remember the plan. Genji, Pharah, and D.va are to go to the center of the construction and blow up the core so Talon cannot finish their base. Mei, Winston and I will provide coverage for the dropjet. Mercy will heal by the dropjet and (y/n) will be in charge of healing the others. When the bomb is planted, tell us and rush over to the jet. We'll get away and head home." Reinhardt says. "Ready?"

You all nod.

"Then let us prove ourselves in glorious combat!"

Talon doesn't expect the attack and is caught off guard. Pharah takes the skies and launches grenades at the ground while Genji is as swift as the wind, taking out several mercenaries at a time. You fight close to D.va as the four of you make your way to the center of the unfinished base.

"Everyone alright?" You ask when the fighting has stopped for a bit.

"Mech still in tact." Hana says.

"I need healing." Genji says, pulling shuriken from his arm and into his hand.

"Yellow across the board. Armor must've been hit." Pharah says.
