Chapter 34: Family Vacation

You were packing your bags.

No, you weren't leaving the family. You were leaving with the family. To South Korea. On vacation. (Scared ya there didn't I? No? K.)

You and Hana were taking (s/n) on a trip to Hana's homeland. He had just turned three, and Hana wanted to show him a bit of her home. You'd be visiting Busan and Seoul. Hana was super excited that she was showing her son her home country. She kept telling him some crazy stories about it, even though he probably wouldn't remember it.

Your flight was tomorrow and you had to wake up early to catch it, so once you and Hana finished packing and had some dinner, you put (s/n) to bed and got ready for your own bed. Once you finished your routine, you lay in bed and wait for Hana.

She exits the restroom in her pink tank top and purple pajama pants with Pokémon on them. She gets in bed next to you and pulls the covers up before you quickly kiss.

"You're going back home tomorrow. You excited?" You ask.

"Is that even a question you need to ask?" She retorts.

"Guess not."

She does that giggle you love. "I can't wait to show (s/n) sights in Korea."

"He won't remember most of it."

"Well, just means we'll have to go again. And again. And again."

"We were gonna do that anyway. We always try to go once a year to see your family unless they come here like they did the last few years."

"But there's something about the first time, you know?"

"Yeah. I guess so. The three of us on our first family vacation."

"I just hope (s/n) will stay behaved on the plane."

"He will. He's potty trained, so there will hopefully be no accidents. Also, he'll either be sleeping or mesmerized by the cartoons on the tv."

Hana laughs. "That may keep him quiet."

"Speaking of sleeping, we probably should. We gotta wake up early, too."

"Ne. Jal jja. (네. 잘자.)"

"Goodnight."

You kiss goodnight and wrap your arms around your love. You get maybe about five hours of sleep before the alarm wakes you up. You and Hana groggily get up and change out of your pajamas. After you quickly shower, you go to (s/n)'s room to wake him up.

"(S/n). Time to wake up." You say smiling and gently shaking him awake. You see (s/n) stir and open his eyes blinking them. "We're going to get ready to go to South Korea. You get to fly on a plane with us!"

(S/n) smiles and sits up in the bed. He was telling you how excited he was to fly on a plane the last couple of days. You wondered if he was more excited to be on a plane rather than go to another country.

You help (s/n) get dressed before heading downstairs to the garage. You buckle up (s/n) in the back of the Tesla Model X (one of the several cars you owned. You and Hana were rich. You could buy all the cars you wanted). Hana comes into the garage as soon as you finish checking to make sure all of the luggage was in the car and you set off for LAX.

"Eomma (엄마)?" (S/n) asks.

"Yes (s/n)?" Hana says.

"What did you do in Korea?"

"Well (s/n), I lived there with your halmeoni (할머니) and hal-abeoji (할아버지) and samchon (삼촌) Won-jae. I went to school and played video games for most of it. I lived there for a long time before I went to (home country) and met your appa (아빠)."
