Chapter 36: Flashback (Halloween)

(A/n) Well! Long time no see. Short Halloween update. Emphasis on short. Probably won't be too great but hey. It's something. It's also November 2nd or 3rd, so it's late for ya, but whatever. New D.va stuff! Yaaaay!

It was that time of year. The time for spoopy things. Halloween. The time where you dress up in fun costumes and hand out candy to kids. Well, not all the candy. Hana made sure you kept several bags stored away. It's also the time for spooky game streams, which meant P0W3R had a Halloween stream.

Yours and Hana's house looked magnificent, at least from a gamer's perspective. You two (along with the help of some maintenance people and P0W3R), created your house to look like Luigi's Mansion, with the creepy piano score, Boos, portrait ghosts, Luigi cutouts, etc. It looked amazing. To add to this, you and Hana dressed up in a Nintendo theme, too. The classic Mario and Peach (even though it was Luigi's Mansion) with cute little baby (s/n) as Toad. It was his first Halloween, and you figured he may as well go with the theme.

"Look at him (y/n)!" Hana exclaims, putting on (s/n)'s toad head and holding him.

"I am. When I'm not fixing my mustache I'm looking at the two of you." You respond before looking back at the mirror fixing your mustache. "It just won't freakin stay."

"We just need it for the photos and maybe a bit of the stream. Possibly for a few trick or treaters too."

"I kinda want to super glue it."

"Aniyo!(아니요) You're not doing that."

"I know I know. It was a joke. Well. It's sticking now. Want to take the picture?"

Hana nods and hands you (s/n) before grabbing her phone out. She adjusts her wig a bit and starts the countdown. You make a funny noise to get (s/n) to smile and Hana takes a few pictures. As she looks for which one to post, you hear the doorbell ring.

"I got it." You say, putting (s/n) down on a chair.

You go open the door and see two kids. One looks like they're 5 and the other looks no older than 3. The 5 year old is in a police outfit and the three year old is a witch. It's a cute sight. After you do a Mario greeting (amusing their parents), you hand them a couple pieces of candy. The five year old says thank you after their mom ask what does he say and you close the door once they leave.

"Well that was cute." You say entering the room where Hana was playing with (s/n).

"I'm sure it was. I wanna get the next doorbell!" Hana says.

"Okey dokey!"

"Are you going to do that all night?"

"Problem with that?" You sit down next to Hana, putting an arm around her and pecking her cheek.

"Not really. No. It's fun."

The doorbell rings again and Hana hands you (s/n) to greet trick or treaters, but unfortunately it's just Felix and Werner. Felix is in a classic Link outfit and Werner is wearing a hot dog costume.

"Well, we're the first ones to arrive for once!" Werner says walking into the living room.

"Ayyyy!" You say laughing. "Happy Halloween. You bring the goods like you promised, Felix?"

Felix smiles and holds up a bag of pretzels and box of Oreos. "Of course I did!"

"Perfect."

"We're just waiting on three more now." Hana says.

"I have to say, the decorations turned out magnificent." Felix says, sitting down on the couch as Werner begins to set up the streaming equipment.

"Yeah. I'm happy with how it turned out." You admit as Felix begins to play with (S/n).

Hana then answers the door to more trick or treaters. This time it was just a group of friends who looked to be in about third grade and all dressed as superheroes. Once they leave, Elliott and Sakura arrive, dressed as Vegeta and Bulma. You greet them as they enter the living room, Sakura loving how cute (s/n) looks.

"Your family idea is absolutely adorable!" Sakura exclaims.

"Thanks. Maybe someday if the cards align you'll have a little Trunks of your own." You say, seeing both Elliot and Sakura blush at the thought.

"Alright. So all we're waiting on is Carolina, so let's discuss what we're doing the stream." Felix says.

"Yes. Let's do that." Elliot quickly jumps in. "Right so we'll do a bit of talking before the games, and we're mainly doing horror games. (S/n) will be in a different room, right?"

"Yeah. We'll wait for him to fall asleep before we get those games done. Before then we can just talk or play other games " Hana says, sitting down.

"Should we have a cycle for who get's the door for trick or treaters?"

"Yeah. Let's go by who arrived first. So after Hana and me it'll be Werner, then Felix, then Elliot, then Sakura, and then Carolina." You say

"Alright. Now should we have the viewers vote on what game to play? We have a few and we'll just give them the titles to choose from."

"Yeah that sounds good Elliot." Werner says.

"Good idea, anata (あなた)." Sakura says, pecking Elliot's cheek.

The doorbell rings and Werner get's up to get it. Meanwhile you're turning on the cameras and testing the equipment to make sure the stream is ready. You hear Werner close the door and walking back, only for the doorbell to ring again. He opens it and it's Carolina, wearing a plague doctor costume.

"Everyone is here." Werner says as Carolina walks in.

"Sorry I'm late. Traffic was a bitch."

"No worries Carolina. You're just in time. We're about to start the stream." Elliot says.

You get everything ready and hold (s/n) slowly rocking him to get him to sleep. It was his bedtime after all. The stream begins and everyone welcomes people to the special Halloween stream. A lot of the comments were about the costumes you were wearing. Everyone seemed to like yours and Hana's. The seven of your are talking about some Halloween experiences you've had as you wait for (s/n) to sleep.

"So Felix. Any specific moment you remember from when you were a kid for Halloween?" Sakura asks.

"I remember one Halloween after I came home from trick or treating my dad was sitting on his phone looking at some of the security footage. See, we had a doorbell with a camera and a speaker where whoever had the phone could speak into it and whatever they say could be heard. That way you could ask who someone is and see them. My dad was using it for a different reason though. He put a bowl of candy that said 'please take one' on it and you know no one really follows that rule right?"

"I never did as a kid." Carolina says.

"Right. Most don't. Well my dad was making sure people did. I saw this first hand. He told me to watch him and some teenager went up to the bowl. He looked around to see if no one was looking and began to grab the bowl to put the candy in his pillowcase. My dad then yelled "TAKE ONE!!!" and the guy dropped the bowl and took off running. Funniest shit I saw all Halloween that night."

Everyone was laughing at that story. You exchange a couple more stories before looking down and seeing (s/n) is asleep. You excuse yourself to put him in his crib and they tell the viewers to vote for what game to play first. After a few moments, one of the Resident Evil games is chosen and you start off with that game. Everyone has a blast, making this Halloween another success.

(A/N) Well! That's that! Sorry it was short. I had to get it out sooner rather than later. Besides, it was just a special, be it two to three days late. Whatever. Deadlines suck. We'll get back to the Korea trip next chapter. I have a lot of plans for that one. Anyway, thanks for reading this (even though it was kind of rushed and the ending was bad). I'm tired and got more work tomorrow. Unenthusiastic yay. Have a nice day :D
