So remember that flashback chapter way back when? Well, here's another. As you recall, these are mostly about Hana's visit to your country, so they're told from her perspective. This also means the original story is going to have to wait again. Since I'm the writer, I get to laugh at you now. HAHAHAHAHAHA. Okay I'm done laughing. With that said, enjoy.
Hana POV
So today was the first day I was going to Brianna's house after school to play Pokémon and just hang out. We couldn't do it last week because Brianna was out of town. However, since everyone was here today, I was going to my first house in (home country) that wasn't (y/n)'s.
I kept glancing at the clock in English class, anticipating for that final bell to ring. It didn't matter if I was called on, because I could lie that I didn't understand the question, and the teacher would believe it. However, because I wanted to learn English, I paid half attention, and (y/n) would fill me in later.
The five minutes until the final bell feel like five hours, but eventually it rings and everyone grabs their stuff to leave for the weekend. I grab my backpack and feel my DS hidden in one of the pockets. Soon I'll own these guys in Pokémon. Us Koreans have a reputation to keep.
"So we're meeting them at the flagpole, right?" I ask.
"Yeah, but first I have to grab my DS from my locker. I'll meet you there." (Y/n) says.
I nod and head out of the classroom to go to the flagpole. I'd been at the school for a little while, so I've learned a bit of the layout, at least the route from the English classroom to the flagpole.
I head outside and see the flagpole where the (home country) flag is waving high. It's interesting to see a different flag flying in the wind other than the South Korean flag. I see Stephen and Ryan already there, and they wave at me.
"Hey Hana." Ryan says.
"Annyoung." I say.
"Where's (y/n)?" Stephen asks.
"At his locker grabbing his DS. Where's Brianna?"
"She's asking her science teacher something. Shouldn't be too long." Ryan says.
"So what exactly are the plans?"
"Well, first we head to McDonald's because it's close by and it's cheap food. Don't fill yourself up though, because at Brianna's we have plenty of chips and whatnot. Then we walk to her house and play Pokémon for a bit and maybe have a movie playing in the background." Stephen says.
Right as soon as he finishes talking, (y/n) walks up and Brianna comes soon after. We start walking to the McDonald's and asking me questions about my life in Korea.
"So do they have McDonald's in South Korea?" Ryan asks.
"Well, we have bulgogi burgers for starters, which have quite a bit of bulgogi sauce. We also have a shrimp burger and churros." I say.
"Wait, you have churros at your McDonald's?" Briana asks.
"Yeah."
"Wow. We should get on that." Stephen says. "You said a shrimp burger?"
"Yeah. Shrimp is actually pretty big in Korea, and it's real shrimp, not paste in the burger."
"Well, can't say our McDonald's has that." Ryan says.
"Didn't you say that they had that spicy sandwich that your brother got you to try when you were six and ended up drinking all your soda?" (Y/n) says.
"Oh yeah. The McSpicy Shanghai Burger. Yeah, don't have that when you're young. It's not a fun experience." I say. "And then of course we have the normal things you can get everywhere like the Big Mac and quarter pounder. Another thing we have in Korea is McWings, which are chicken wings."
