The red-head was honestly just walking around. There had been no purpose to why he was there that night. It was strange, almost fate-like, for him to see the blue-haired boy. Karma himself didn't know why he had felt the inkling to do something. He'd never felt like this before, never cared about anyone but himself before. His parents moved from place to place a lot, he hadn't felt the need to get too attached to anything. Somehow though, this stranger, who he didn't even know, grabbed his attention.
Why not be the hero for once?
Karma was used to being the one doing the bulling, teasing, whatever you want to call it, it was part of his nature, part of his personality. He'd never in his life dreamed the day would come in which he'd find someone he'd want to protect. It just didn't seem right.
After that incident had occurred, he half wished they wouldn't ever meet each other again, that they would go their separate ways, and he could avoid that little convince store forever during his time here. Who knows when his family might decide to move again...what was the point in getting attached to someone now? Not that he was attached, pffff, no, never, not in this fanfiction. We don't do that here. Pffffffff. No such thing as fate, shipping, no, none of that.
"Class, it is time to introduce our new addition to this classroom," the teacher spoke to the students. That was Karma's cue, he'd have to walk in now and pretend like he cared about all of these losers. Which he didn't. The only reason he even was in this 'Ass Class' was because of his criminal recor- I mean 'disciplinary issues'.
Karma scanned the classroom, nope, none of these outcasts seemed even remotely interesting. The red-head wanted to laugh at the shocked faces of the people he'd threatened the night before. To think they would be here too, coincidence was a strange thing.
"Well, aren't you going to introduce yourself?" the teacher said.
"Why should I? I don't care about any of them," instantly he felt a bit guilty for saying that. Yes, the person he had protected was here too. Why should he feel sorry about saying he didn't care? He didn't. Well he shouldn't. Feeling that he must correct his previous statement, Karma glanced into the eyes of the blue-haired male and smirked, "well, almost any of them."
The teacher sighed and pointed to the open seat at the back of the classroom, he really wish he had accepted the other job opportunity. Anything would be better than working in this dump. Good news for him, because two new individuals walked into the room. One, a lady dressed entirely in red, the other, a brunette with red-rimmed glasses.
"How do you do?" she began, "I'm Madame Red, the principal of Black Hearts Academy," the students stared at her with their mouths open in shock. What was the point in the principal of Black Hearts Academy coming to their school? No, coming to this class? The school itself was well-renowned...but this class? There had to be some hidden motives here.
"Considering your teacher has just gone on a much needed vacation-"
"I have?" the teacher interrupted.
"You have," she said. The brunette took an envelope off of his clipboard and handed it to the teacher. Opening it, he leaped for joy and rushed out of the room, not attempting in the slightest to hide his emotions.
"My secretary here will be the one filling in for him," Madame Red gestured to the brunette, "treat him well."
Needless to say, the students were all very confused at this development, why the new teacher? From a different school? What was the point in this? And why did the principal herself have to come all the way here just to tell them this? Something wasn't adding up here.
Madame Red held up her hand, as if to stop their thoughts from escaping their mouths, "before anyone asks a stupid question, just know that I can make your lives even more miserable than they already are. Now, this is your teacher for the next few days, deal with it, or stay home. Your choice. Thank you and good day," Madame Red turned on her heal and walked out of the room, slamming the door behind her. The secretary jumped at the noise and nearly dropped his clipboard. Silence fell upon them as the students stared and he stared back.
"So what are we supposed to call you?" someone broke the silence, almost feeling bad for the guy.
"Oh, uh, uhm," the brunette turned to the blackboard behind him and grabbed a piece of chalk to write his name, "my name is Grell Sutcliff. So, er, 'Mr. Sutcliff'?"
The school-day dragged on, this guy wasn't a teacher, clearly he wasn't, so what was he doing here? Karma didn't understand the reasoning behind this but he didn't really care either. As long as the teacher didn't bother him, which he probably wouldn't, he'd be fine. This guy was a nervous wreck, what could he possibly do?
"Karma?" a voice said.
"Karma?!" they repeated, this time nudging him gently. The red-head groaned and sat up, he'd fallen asleep on his desk from sheer boredom. Rubbing his eyes and yawning, he examined the person before him. It was the blue-haired kid from the night before.
Surprise, surprise.
"School is over," he said.
"Oh, so it is," Karma yawned again, "I see you're using the hair ties I bought you," the boy blushed lightly and looked away, he scratched the side of his face and nodded. Was it really something to be embarrassed about? Or maybe he was embarrassed about the fact that Karma remembered him? Interesting...
"Thanks for getting them for me," he smiled, "my name is Nagisa Shiota by the way. I don't think I got a change to properly introduce myself."
"Pleasure to meet you."
