"Sir Lau hasn't touched me once since then," Kiku looked into the mirror of his personal bathroom. He had been staying in Ignatius this entire time, refusing to go back to his own place. You never know what might happen to Lau in the night, or at least, that was his excuse for not going back. Kiku continued to stare in the mirror, trying to brush down that one piece of hair. He didn't want to go around looking like Feliciano. Sighing in defeat, he went about his business.
"Sir Lau wouldn't actually fall in-love with me right?" he spoke aloud to himself for the second time. He had a habit of doing that, it was a good thing no one was allowed on this top floor, or people would question his sanity. Actually, people would start to do that regardless. Bottom line: people are just weird.
Kiku sighed, his hair still wasn't cooperating with him. He decided that it would be best just to leave it like that. Lau wouldn't notice anyway since his eyes were closed all of the time. In all honesty, Lau probably didn't even know what Kiku looked like. How was it possible for Lau to read and do work with his eyes shut? Kiku thought about it a bit longer before trying to close his own eyes. X-Ray vision? Kiku wandered around with his arms outstretched, trying to see what it was like being Lau.
"I look so dumb right now, don't I?" Kiku spoke, thinking he was still alone.
"Yes, you do," Lau answered. Kiku yelped, opening his eyes, just his luck that Lau would hear him talking to himself. Kiku was supposed to be the 'quiet type' not the 'I'm secretly crazy' type. The Japanese male mentally slapped himself. Why was it that whenever Lau was here, he was always giving him the worst impression of who he was?
"W-when did you get there?" he asked. Lau just laughed at him before taking his pipe out of his mouth and blowing the smoke into the room. Kiku attempted to hold back his gag but couldn't, it was too strong.
"A few minutes ago."
"But how long ago was 'a few minutes'!?"
"I got here just in time to see you asking yourself questions in the mirror," Lau stifled a laugh at the look of embarrassment on Kiku's face. If only he could take a picture of that and use it for his desktop wallpaper. It's so cute. Correction: Kiku was so cute.
"Y-you were here the whole time then?!" Kiku wanted to slap himself silly, curse him and his habit of thinking out loud! Why did things have to turn out this way?
"Mhm, and by the way, the answer to your question is yes, I would," Lau answered, before turning on his heel and leaving. He had forgotten the original purpose of his visit. Maybe the question would come back to him later. In any case, staying here wasn't going to get his work done, even if it was a more pleasurable experience.
"Would what?" Kiku asked, before remembering his earlier question, "ehhhhhhhhhhhhhh?! But there isn't any reason to fall in-love with me!" the Japanese male stomped his foot on the ground and clenched his fists. His face was so red, he almost didn't want to go out there and talk to Lau ever again. He knew he would though, since Ran Mao still hadn't come back. What was taking her so long?
Kiku tried to calm down, and forget about the whole thing. He went into Lau's office, like he usually did, and sat down on the floor in front of the bookshelves. Kiku would read, while Lau did, well, whatever it is that Lau does. Lau never did work, that is for sure, half the time he spent with his legs on his desk smoking, whatever it is that Lau smokes. Kiku had a sneaky suspicion that it might be opium but he hadn't managed to confirm that theory.
Lau jumped up from his seat and ran over to Kiku, he snatched the book out of his hands and grinned, "you're reading The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes!" he announced, "I love Sherlock Holmes!" Kiku jumped up and tried to get his book back, but like the last time, Lau wouldn't let him.
