You Again (Red Queen Fanfiction)

The Last Day

"So when am I going to die," I said excepting her to say about in a week or say. "Tonight" she replied and with that she walked out of the room."

Mare's POV
     I sat on my bed thinking over what the queen said but all I could think was that "I'm going home." Another knock now came on my door, gentler than Elara's. I went to open it and in scurried my three maids and I saw Lucas outside the door. I felt a pang of guilt when I saw him. Just last night I was using him, toying with his mind for my benefit. Does he remember anything? But when he greeted me with a smile, I realized my secret is safe, for now.
      The maids get me ready for breakfast and Lucas escorted me to the grand room where we were eating breakfast this morning. I was excepting to just see Evalengine and Queen Elara at the table but when I got there I saw the whole royal family was there eating their breakfast. I guess Cal and Maven didn't have lessons or anything this morning so they joined us for breakfast. As I walked in I realized I'm late again because of the amount of time it takes for my maids to get me ready, to make me look sliver.
     After tonight I won't have to deal with that anymore. As I sat down in my seat between the two princes, a thought entered my head. "Do they know I'm leaving? Would Elara tell them? Why would she? Would they be glad if I left?"
     As I sat down I looked over at Maven first. He smiled at me and I was pretty sure he didn't know which means Cal probably didn't know either.
      After breakfast I had training. I walked with Maven, Cal and Evangeline walked ahead of us. Maven told me that we'll be having arena fights in class again but after last time the instructor probably won't make me go. As I walked out of the room at the end of training I realized for the first time today I'm actually going to miss something here. I actually liked practicing my power. I felt that feeling again. I'm turning into one of them.
      I then had proctol which I totally won't miss and then my lesson with Julian. I realized I'm going to miss not only my lessons with Julian but Julian himself. He's helped me through everything here and helped keep me a sane person. I was wondering whether or not to tell him I was leaving and ending up deciding not to, for the good of us both. I couldn't stop myself at the end of the lesson, before I walked out the door I quickly turned back and gave him a hug. He seem surprised at first but ended up putting his arms around my shoulders. His touch reminded me of my father's hugs.
   "Goodbye," I whispered so soft that I knew he couldn't hear me. I then walked out the door. The door slammed shut and I started back at it. I felt like I was losing a piece of family. A new thought now took over my head. "I want to stay,"
