Callie's POV
At school I was pretty lonely. Usually Brandon and I would hang out, but he's been acting weird lately. He doesn't talk to me when he sees me and he looks almost...hurt. I'm assuming people know I tried killing myself based on the staring and whispering there was. I was about to leave school when I bumped into this girl. " I'm so sorry." I said.
" It's fine. I wasn't looking where I was going and-wait you're the vice principle's daughter, right?" I never had anyone ask me this, so I was unsure of how to react.
" Uh, yeah that's me."
Her face lit up and she clapped excitedly. " Oh my God, your mom is so nice! I'm a T.A. so I talk to her sometimes. I'm Mariana, by the way."
She stuck her hand out towards me. I'm not going to fuck up another chance at a friendship, so I accepted it. " Callie."
" That's such a pretty name. I wish I had something as special and nice as 'Callie'." This girl I really cheerful. I could use a more happy and uplifting person to hang out with. All these boys in my life are causing way too much drama.
I smiled. " Well I was just about to head ho-"
" Ooh, we should go to the mall! I love the mall." Someone is a bit head strong.
I laughed uncomfortably and responded. " I don't drive yet."
" Oh. Well do you know anyone who can drive?" Yes, Brandon. There's no way I'm asking him to drive us to the mall. And to be completely honest I hate the mall.
I sighed, pretending to be disappointed. " Nope."
Just then she looked over and squealed. I looked that same way and I just saw a boy. I was shocked when she ran over to him and pulled him over here. " Jesus, would you mind being a good best friend, and drive me and Callie to the mall?"
He looked at me, and I think started checking me out. " Callie? By any chance do you know a Brandon?"
How the hell does this ass hole find a way into every conversation I have? I shrugged. " I'm not good with names." That's a complete lie, but he doesn't need to know that.
" Brandon Fosters, brown hair, plays the piano, really chill." Jesus added.
I rolled my eyes. Please, if there's any way to describe him it would be brown hair, jerk, cocky, the list goes on and on. " I wouldn't exactly describe him like that."
" Oh so you do know him. We should invite him to co-"
" No, we shouldn't." I interrupted. There's no way he is tagging along to this already dreadful trip.
" Jesus, we don't want any of your lame friends tagging along. Can we go now, so I don't miss any sales?" Mariana whined.
He rolled his eyes, but nodded and we left the school.
At the mall, Mariana was trying on clothes while I stood waiting for her. This is really boring. " Cal, how does this look on me?" She asked, coming out of the dressing room with a white crop top on and ripped jeans.
I shrugged. I'm not one to judge clothing. " Come on, you don't have an opinion on this?" She said referring to her outfit.
I sighed. " It's...really nice?" I didn't know what else to say.
" This isn't fun for you, is it?" Mariana asked, disappointed.
I didn't want to make her feel bad, but at the same time I didn't want to lie. " It's not you. It's just I don't like doing stuff like this."
" Okay, then what do you like to do?"
What do I like to do? I like...um...music! " Well I used to play the guitar. I guess that would be something I like to do if I had one."
" That's it. We're finding something both of us have in common. Let's go!" She stated as she started to walk out of the store.
" Don't you need to change out of those clothes first?" I asked, but it was too late because she walked through the door and set off the sensors. Great.
We waited until mall security was done checking both of us to make sure we didn't steal anything. After they finished I was really irritated, and I never wanted more to be home. " That was kind of a bust huh?" Mariana said as we left the mall.
" Yeah, sure, whatever. Just call your friend and have him pick us up." I was not staying out longer than I had had to.
" About that, he had wrestling practice so he can't pic-"
" What!? Why would you ask him for a ride if he couldn't give us one back?" We were now outside of the mall and it was cold.
I gripped both of my arms in attempt to get warmth, and I noticed Mariana was doing the same thing. " I thought we'd be here longer, or at least until after his practice ended. You don't have anyone to call?"
" No I don-" there's one person, but he won't be happy about it. It's the last option we have, so I pulled out my phone.
" Who are you calling?" Mariana asked, trying to look at my phone to see the ID.Brandon's POV
Stepping into my room, I threw my backpack on the floor. This day sucked. Not only does Callie probably hate me, but I couldn't focuss in class and my teacher called me on it. I fell back on my bed, and rubbed my face with my hands. I just really need a nap- my thoughts were cut off by my phone ringing.
I pulled it out of my pocket to find out Callie was calling me. I pressed the "answer" button. " What?" I answered with a kind of harsh tone.
" Could you pick me and a friend up from the mall?"
I sat up and grabbed my car keys. "Fine, I'll be there in fifteen minutes."
I hung up and went to go rescue Callie.
Pulling up to the mall parking lot, I saw Callie with this short, dark haired girl. " Get in." I said with impatience as I unlocked the car.
" Oh my God, thank you so much for picking us up. I wasn't sure how long we would have to wait-"
" Okay." I said, cutting her little friend off.
I watched as Callie got into the passenger seat. " Thanks." She stated, closing the door.
" Yep."
I dropped that girl- Mariana I think she said her name was- off at her house. Now I was driving Callie home. " So why the mall? You don't strike me as a person that'd enjoy that." I asked trying to make conversation.
" Yeah, and how would you know what kind of activities I enjoy? For all you know I could love the mall." Callie snapped back.
I pulled over to the side of the road. "Why do you think that you can just call me up and ask me to come to the rescue then treat me like shit?"
" Why are we pulled over?" Callie asked, avoiding my question.
" Because we need to talk and I'm not getting in a car accident. Now how come you seemed so hurt that I don't have feelings for you?"
" Woah, where did that come from?" Callie asked.
That wasn't even the question I was thinking, but I'm going with it. " It came from the fact that you said you hated me."
Callie turned to face me. " Because I do hate you."
" Why? What did I ever do to you that made you hate me?" I realize my voice is louder and comming out as yelling.
" You hurt me." She stated.
I hurt her? How did I hurt her? Does she really care that I wasn't going to kiss her? Who am I kidding I was. I'm lying to myself and her. " I never wanted to hurt you-"
" Well you did, so can you just start this damn car and take me home?" I nodded and I started driving again. The rest of the ride I didn't say anything else. She's right, I am an ass. Here's an update for you guys. So I want to know, how much Brallie do we want in this? Also do you agree that Brandon is an "ass"? Please let me know. Thanks for reading!"
