Chapter 20

Brandon's POV

I stopped the car right as we got into the driveway. I got out and heard Callie following me. Bursting into the house, I speed walked to the living room and sure enough my mom and Lena were there. " I refuse to stay away from Callie. I love her and forcing us to not date won't change that," I said, throwing them all off.
" Okay." I looked at Lena in surprise the minute those words left her mouth.
My mom looked angry. " Okay? Lena, what does that mean?"
" It means we'll work this out. Callie, if it's okay with Alex of course, could you call him up and see if you could stay with them for a little longer?" I couldn't believe this. Lena is actually trying to make us work.
" Yeah, I'll call him," Callie stated, pulling out her phone.
After we waited for Callie to finish her phone call in silence, she said, "Alex said it was fine with his parents. I can move into their spare room."
Lena nodded and my mom didn't say a word. I knew she wasn't happy, but I honestly don't care. I'm fighting for this. " Callie, go pack up your bags and Brandon, you'll help carry her bags out." Callie and I both nodded and Callie went upstairs to go pack.
Waiting a few seconds to see if there was anything else to be said, I followed Callie up to her room. She was folding one of her shirts when I leaned against her door frame and smiled. I watched her pack for a few minutes without her noticing me. "Want some help?"
She jumped, clearly startled, and turned to look at me. " What the hell? How long have you been standing there?"
" Only a few minutes," I reply, walking into the room. " Do you want some help or should I just go back downstairs?"
She placed a few more clothes into her suitcase and said," Actually, I think I'm pretty much done."
I reached around her and grabbed the suitcase. " Good. Then I can help you carry your stuff."
" I'm not helpless, you know."
" I know. But I want to help." I gave her a kiss on the cheek and walked out of the room.

Callie's POV

" Is that everything?" Alex's mom asked as Brandon set my stuff down in my room.
Brandon looked around and replied," Just about. There's just one more thing I need to get, but I can bring it by later."
" Sounds good. Your name is..?"
" Brandon," He reminded her.
" Right, of course. Thank you for the help. You're welcome anytime." She offered him a smile, which he returned.
I followed him out of the house and stopped right in front of the car. "Thanks again for everything," I said with a slight laugh.
" No problem. I'm glad everything is finally working out."
" Me too." We both shared a smile and didn't speak. I was contempt with how things were turning out.
Lena walked outside and embraced me in a hug. " I'm going to miss having you around, but," she pulled away, " if being with Brandon is what makes you happy then I'm happy."
" Thank you." She gave me a smile before hugging me one last time.
After she hugged me again, she went to start the car. " So I'll see you later?" I asked Brandon.
He chuckled and replied, " Yeah, I guess you will." He got in the car and Lena waved to me before driving off.

This is a really, really short chapter, but it's a filler and an update. I'M BACK! I missed writing this book soooo much. With that said, expect an update every Monday (or if I spontaneously update twice a week). Please comment and vote!

Also, some of the upcoming drama, Callie does in fact have a sibling. He will come later. Brandon will make a mistake and risk his relationship with Callie. Callie's ex will come and pay her a visit. I have so much planned so stay tuned!
