~Dana's POV~

“Please tell me where we’re going.” I pleaded.

“The answers still the same as it was when you asked me five minutes ago.” Gerard replied and grabbed my hand that had been draped at my side.

“What would that answer be?” I questioned him, already knowing what the answer was.

“No.” He stated simply. “I’m not allowing you to manipulate me into letting slip my evil plans.” He chuckled.

“Fine.” I folded my arms and sighed deeply, my lips forming a pout.

“You’re so stubborn.” He grinned at me.

“You love it.” I retorted flashing my teeth at him.

“That I do.” He nodded a little to enthusiastically. “If you’re interested we’re actually nearly there.” He told me softly, beginning to swing our held hand’s back and forth in a rhythmic fashion.

“Yay.” I replied, trying to drip my voice in as much sarcasm as possible.

“There’s no need to sound so excited.” Gerard said his voice wavering. “But I do hope you like it. I wasn’t sure whether this would be your thing or not.” He explained nervously.

“Stop fretting Gee, I’m sure it’ll be fine. I’m not a very demanding person.” I answered, squeezing his hand a little.

He raised his eye brow at me. “Not demanding? Are we talking about the same Dana here?” He joked, earning a small elbow jolt from me.

“There’s no need to be rude Mr Way or I’ll find ways to embarrass you as much as I can this evening.” I spoke threateningly.

“I believe you.” He smirked a little, before dropping my hand. “Here we are.” His free hand was now extended towards the building we had stopped outside of.

I looked up at the brickworks from my place at the pavement and felt a small gasp brace my lips. The light shades of brown and the white painted wooden window frames looked all too familiar. The oak door was large, with intricate swirling text above it which read: ‘La belle’.

“You didn’t have to bring me here Gerard.” I half told him, half scolded him. “It’s so expensive.” I whispered, still looking at the white text in awe. ‘La Belle’ was a famous French restaurant that people came from as far as New York to eat it. It was very posh, very French and very expensive.

“I wanted to. I’ve never been, and it’s supposed to be lovely.” Gerard commented, before taking my hand back into his and opening the heavy oak door by the large handle and holding it open for me to step in.

“I’m underdressed.” I whispered into his shoulder as we entered the large entrance hall. The ceiling was high above and painted in deep reds, purples and gold, to give the whole place an expensive feel. The pillars that lined the walls, reach high up into the room, their tops and bases decorated with detailed carvings of plants and animals.

“No you’re not. You look beautiful.” Gerard replied in a hushed tone as he led me towards a large oak desk, behind which sat a small woman, who smiled.

“Bonjour Monsieur, Madame.” The woman, who was obviously French said.

“Bonsoir. Une table pour deux, sous ‘Way’” Gerard replied fluently. I raised my eye brows at him.

“Bon, suivez-moi.” The lady replied with a smile and led us through a large archway into the main body of the restaurant; where there was soft French music playing, curtsey of a live band.  She showed us to a small, square table, decorated with a white table cloth and a vanilla scented candle before handing us our menus.
