"Home of Everything"

Nayeli

I know this negro did not just introduce himself to my parents. I thought to myself as I watched Reese start talking up a storm. He was nothing but disrespectful and ignorant towards me but he was acting like he was a gentleman for my parents.

"Mom you don't need to know him." I said trying to shove Reese away.

"You just up and moved out into the home of some man I never met. I don't even know you anymore" my mother chided making me feel like shit. I hated that things were going sour between us but I wasn't going to succumb to her rules.

"Miss I can assure you that my brother is a gentleman. Think of your daughter as an in home nanny. She cares for my niece while my brother runs his business" Reese replied making me give him a "yous a damn lie" face.

"And what kind of business might this be?" She crossed her arms cutting her eyes at me.

"We both co-own a club and we invest our money into other businesses throughout the community. We're just some brothers trying to succeed in white america"

No this nigga didn't.

"I hear that young man" my dad chimed nodding his head in approval.

If only they knew.

"Nayeli I want to talk to you" my dad said as he walked off to the side.

"Yes" I groaned already knowing where this conversation was going.

"You and this boy"

"Dad it's completely professional, I watch his four year old daughter and he pays me. Mom was making a big deal out of nothing"

"She's your mother, we've experienced life at your age. We want to make sure you don't make the mistakes we did"

"Dad I'm going to make mistakes, it's inevitable but you guys can't keep sheltering me. I'll never learn to be on my own"

"I just know how these young boys can be, they only want one thing"

"And I don't want to be anyone's baby mama, dad I'm a big girl. I can handle myself just fine, you raised me well" I assures him. He gave me a look before nodding and walking back over to my mom. My dad was always the gentle and understanding one. My mom was more aggressive and would give you an ass whooping in a second.
