I'm back on Altea.

My dad had just gotten back from a training session with the rest of the paladins. I ran up to him and asked, "Can I fly the Red Lion some more?"

My father looked down at me and smiled. "I'm really tired from the work out today." I frowned at his words. I was really looking forward to practicing with Red again today. "How about you go and see if Ricky will teach you to pilot Blue."

I stared up at him and whined. "But I really wanted to practice with Red. I think I'm finally feeling the connection with her. I don't want to add another lion to the mix."

My father kneeled down in front of me and put his hands on my shoulders. He looked into my eyes and said, "Cassidy, you already have a stronger connection with Red than I do. You just have to practice your piloting skills. You can do that with Ricky and Blue, can't you?"

I smiled back at him and nodded my head. "Yes," I said with a new found determination and confidence. I ran off in the direction of where my father had just come.

I turned around the tight corners of the castle to reach the one place anyone could always find Ricky.

I walked into the training room to find Ricky training with the guardian. I stood there for a little bit and watched him fight. He was an excellent fighter and pilot. I yelled to him as he was fighting. "Hey, can you teach me to fly Blue?" Ricky looked my way and then the guardian swept his feet out from under him. He fell onto the ground with a thud.

"End training sequence 5." He yelled as the guardian turned off and fell to the floor. Ricky picked himself up off the ground and grabbed his bayard. He walked up to me. "Why do you want to pilot Blue? Shouldn't you be practicing with John and Red?"

"Oh, well Dad is tired from the training today, so he was gonna go rest. He told me to ask you. I told him that I wasn't ready to try and pilot a different lion, but he said I was more than ready. I just need to work on my piloting skills." I rambled while looking everywhere but at Ricky.

He put his hand on my head and ruffled my hair. He started walking away, but turned around and said, "You coming?"

A big smile appeared on my face as I ran after Ricky.

As we walked, the castle started to shake. I looked over at Ricky to ask him what was going on, but he was gone. The castle started to fall apart around me as more shaking started to occur. "What's happening?!" I looked around me in horror.

My eyes flew open when the door in front of me slid open. There were alarms going off everywhere. Explosions sounded all around the ship and I knew that it was falling apart. My head was dizzy and my vision was a bit blurry. I ran through the halls of the Galra ship to the escape pods. I didn't run into any Galra soldiers or sentries and once I got there I hopped into the pod and shut the door.

Alarms were going off as I got into the pilot's seat. I didn't bother buckling myself in because I was in such a hurry. I hit the eject button for the pod and as I came out of the ship, a giant machine floated in the sky. My eyes widened at the sight of the mighty figure. I hadn't seen it in ten thousand years. "Oh my god. It's--" A piece from the Galra ship smashed into the pod and damaged the engine. I grabbed onto the controls and did my best to land it somewhat safely onto the ground without me dying. The pod crashed into the ground with an explosion.

My head thumped as I opened my eyes. Red lights flashed around me as a siren boomed and a voice counted down. My eyes widened as the adrenaline kicked in and I scrambled out of the about to explode escape pod. I jumped away as the heat from the explosion touched my bare skin. I screamed as a sharp pain ran through my right leg and side. I glanced down and noticed the blood that was seeping through my clothes. I needed to get out of there and find somewhere where I could hold out for a little while.

Before I began searching for someplace safe, I inspected my wounds. I looked at the wound on my side first. I lifted up my shirt slightly and revealed a deep gash. I groaned in pain as I sat down on the sandy ground. I tore off the bottom part of my shirt, only leaving a little to cover up my chest. I tore the piece of clothing in half long ways and wrapped it around the gash on my side. I then took a peek at my leg. There was a piece of debris sticking through my thigh and I knew I had to pull it out. I examined it a bit more and before I folded up the extra cloth and shoved it into my mouth. This prevented me from accidentally biting off my tongue. I wrapped my hand around the piece of shrapnel and bit down on the cloth. I quickly pulled out the chunk of metal while screaming between my clenched teeth. I released the cloth from my teeth and wrapped it around my thigh tightly.

I got up from the sand and made sure to put all of my weight on my left leg. I started to walk back the way the pod crashed from and every time I took a step on my right foot my leg lost some of its feeling. I gripped my side tightly with my left hand. The warmth of the blood from my wound seeped into my hand as I continued to trek onward.

Every sandy mound I walked over took me twice as long as just walking in the sand in general. I struggled as I walked up 3 steps and slid down 1. My vision started to blur as I looked at my surroundings. I spotted the Altean castle in the distance and it didn't seem that much farther. I stopped and inhaled deeply before exhaling. "I can do this. I can make it. This pain is nothing to the pain that they made you endure," I mumbled breathlessly to myself.

I pushed myself onward. My adrenaline rush was long gone and dots began to cover my vision. I shook my head from side to side to try and clear my line of sight as well as the fuzzy feeling in my head. It was the start to losing consciousness, but I knew I couldn't die out there. I had to push on for my family and friends that I had lost so long ago.

I watched my footing during my walk and when I looked up I was on the bridge leading to the castle. My head started to pound harder than it had been before. I reached up and touched my hairline lightly with my fingertips.  Something warm slid across the pads of my fingers. I pulled my hand back down and stared at my red stained fingers.  I hastily ran towards the castle in a weird stumble limp run and hoped that I would find someone before I passed out.

Once I reached the doors, I pushed them open and slipped inside. I walked through the castle remembering every little detail of it, as if I was just there yesterday. I stumbled down the hallways like a drunk stumbling down the street.  My body teetered from side to side and I shook my head to try and clear the drowsiness.  I tried to keep my eyes open.

I made my way down the halls and toward the control room, or HQ as my brother and I used to call it. I knew that if anyone was there then that was the place they would be. Once I reached the entrance, I stared at the white doors for a second. Even if something bad awaited me on the other side, I had to go in there and see. I didn't want to bleed to death by myself.

Tears rolled down my cheeks as I stumbled through the door. I came face to face with seven people. They all held shocked looks on their faces. My vision blurred as I whispered out, "Help me." All I saw was red coming towards me as my body went limp. I looked at the red paladin suit that caught me before falling into the darkness.

Dad?

So that's the first episode of season 1 of Voltron.  Whew.  I can't believe I love this show so much.  I'm gonna try to update this book every Sunday.  I've made this series my top priority and I'm not gonna update any of my other books until this is done.  I hope you liked it so far.

What adventures are Cassidy gonna have with this new team of 'paladins' and will she ever approve of them?

Updated: okay so I'm thinking of bringing this back...every sunday. I'm working on editing and making the chapters better. I think I have enough content that I'll be okay with updating on time too.

And if you're joining for the first time then I hope you enjoy.
