Chapter 20: Rose's Father

Rose's Pov 3 months later

Ivy and Aster were watching Violet downstairs. Chrys and I were in our room. She was sleeping beside me. I was reading a book on lovebloom's legends. I felt Chrys shift in her sleep. I looked at her, making sure she's sleeping peacefully. She moved closer to me and continued sleeping.

I heard my phone ring. I leaned over and answered it.

Call (r=rose, b=burnette a.k.a Rose's mom)

R: hello?

B: hello dear.

R: mom? Why are you calling?

B: it's about your father.

R: what is it?

B: he heard about you getting married...

R: So?

B; sweetheart, he's coming here to visit you...

R: oh...

B: he arrived here a bit ago so he's heading to see you now.

R: okay. Bye mom...

B: bye rose.

Call end

I sighed and slowly got up. I went downstairs. I saw ivy holding Violet in her arms while Aster read. As she read she asked Ivy questions. Ivy answers them as best she can. I walked over to them. "Hey you three" I said smiling a bit. "Hi rose" said Ivy and Aster together. Ivy gave me Violet to hold.

I sat down and sighed a bit. "Something wrong?" Asked Ivy, both her and Aster were looking at me. "My father is coming over sometime today..." I said to them. "Why is he?" Asked Aster. "He learned I was getting married...he wants to see who I'm marrying." I said to them. I heard a knock on the door. I stood, still holding Violet, and walked over to the door.

I opened it and saw my father. 6'5, jet black hair, blue eyes, red shirt, blue pants and black boots. "Hey dad..." I said to him. "Hello daughter" He said back to me. He spotted Violet in my arms. "Is she yours?" He asked me. I nodded, "yes dad, this is Violet" He huffed slightly. I let him in and shut the door.

I watched as he looked around the downstairs. He saw Ivy and Aster studying in the livingroom. He walked over to them. I followed him there. Ivy sees him and nudge Aster. Aster looks away from her book and sees my father too. "Oh hello," said Aster to him. He looks at me wanting an answer. "That's Ivy and Aster. Ivy is my fiancé's adopted daughter. Aster is Ivy's girlfriend" I said calmly. I noticed his eye twitch a bit.

"Speaking of fiancé, where is he?" Dad asked me. "Actually dad...my fiancé is a-" I started to say but I heard footsteps and Chrys's voice. "Rose, is everything okay?" She asked me. She spots my dad, "oh...we have a guest..." she stood beside me. "Chrys this is my dad. Dad this is Chrys, my fiancé" I said to him. I noticed Chrys go into her military stance. "Nice to meet you sir" she said politely to him.

My father glared at Chrys. Chrys kept a straight face, unfazed. I felt nervous around my father. Chrys noticed, "Sir, if you don't mind. Please stop glaring, it's quite annoying" I couldn't believe how calm she is around my father. He walked up to us. I took a step back in fear. Chrys side stepped in front of me. "Out of my way" He said to Chrys. "Sorry but no, your making your own daughter scared, and I won't allow you to upset our daughter, your granddaughter." She said to him.

He went to punch Chrys. Chrys was ready and caught his fist in her hand. He looked surprised about that. "Listen here, your going up against a trained marine and a fallen angel. I suggest you don't fight and back down" she said to him darkly. I felt Violet move in my arms and start crying. Chrys's attention went to Violet. Chrys shoved my father back a bit and took Violet from me.

She calmed Violet down. My father walked over to Ivy and Aster. "Chrys..." I said pointing to where my father is. She sees and glares, handing Violet back to me. My father grabbed Aster, Aster yelped in fear. Ivy growled at my father and went at him. He kicked her to the floor and tosses aster, sending her to the wall. Chrys walked over and grabbed my father by his shirt collar. "It's one thing to want to visit, but its another to attack my family!" She shouted.

Chrys threw my father towards the door. "Get out of my home now!" Chrys shouted. He ran towards the door. He stopped and glared at me, "this isn't over" with that he left the house. Chrys huffed then went over to check on Ivy and Aster. Once the two were okay I left Violet with them again. I went upstairs with Chrys. "I'm sorry if my anger scared you..." Chrys said to me. I blinked in surprise, "no, you were protecting us..."

Chrys looks at me and smiled a bit. She layed down in bed. I layed down beside her, falling asleep.
