"Good night baby. Sleep well and dream of me" Jason says smirking while dropping me off in front of the porch of my house.
"I sure will. Thank you once again for this wonderful day" I say giving him a small peck at the side of his cheek
"No problem. Now go have your beauty sleep" he says
I wave at him and watch his car till its out of sight
I walk to the front door humming to my self but I stop when i notice a figure sitting on the porch
I take in the person's features and realize it's Kelvin
"Kelvin? What are you doing here by this time?" I ask
"Good evening to you too birthday girl" he says giving me his signature smile
I manage to give him a small smile
"What are you doing here by this time?"
"I decided to pay you a visit to wish you happy birthday since you didn't reply the one I sent to you on your phone this morning" he says
"Really? You sent a message?" I ask
"Yeah. Around 12am"
"Wow I'm sorry. I didn't actually pay attention to my messages this morning and I've been quite busy." I say giving him a small smile
"No problem. Wow you look so beautiful in that gown. You look very gorgeous" he says smiling
"Thank you kelvin" I say managing to give him a small smile
"So..um Anna..um I was like...you know..wondering if you will like to be my girlfriend" he says kneeling down on one knee pulling out a big box of chocolate
Okay this is gonna end awkward.
I decide to keep quiet
"Come on" he says looking at me with pleading eyes
"I'm sorry kelvin. You are a great guy and all but I'm going to have to say no"
"Jason beat me to it. Didn't he?" He asks after heaving a sigh
"Yes he did. I'm sorry but we can be best of friends" I say
Okay I suck at this
"He always does" I hear him whisper under his breath
"It's okay Anna. I understand. Keep the box of chocolates" he says looking at little bit sad
"Thank you Kelvin." I say
"Have a great night Anna" he says pulling me into a bear hug
"I sure will. You too" I manage to reply
He waves and gets into his car
Wow today has been a long day
I get inside the house and look around for mom. I find her in the kitchen
"Hey mom" I greet her sitting on the chair in the kitchen
"Oh you are back. How was your date?" She asks leaving what she was doing
"It was fun mom. Jason is really a great guy" I say blushing
"I'm glad he's baby. By the way did you meet kelvin outside?" She asks
"Yeah I did" I say feeling a little bad remembering what just happened
"He came about one hour ago but I told him you were out. I told him to wait inside but he insisted on waiting outside for you. He's such a gentleman" my mom says sipping water from a glass cup
