I wake up in the middle of the night and the first thing I check is my new phone and behold I have so many messages all from nicole but one is from Jason
7:00pm
Nicole: hey gurl!
7:02pm
Nicole: you there?
7:09pm
I gave u 7 good minutes to reply. What's wrong gal?
9:00pm
Good night miss! U are gonna explain this tomorrow bye!
As you can see, nicole can be a bit dramatic so I text her a quick sorry with a kissy emoji and then I move over to Jason message
10:00pm
Jason😊: Good night barbie
Awwwn he told me good night so I text him;
1:05am
Me: Thank you jason
And about 5 minutes later I get a text back
Jason😊: you are up? Wow so you stay up late? I thought barbies sleep early.
Me: hehe I was sleeping. I slept quite early so... by the way what are you doing up this late?
Jason😊: nothing much. Just finishing up my Assignment that is due tomorrow.
Wow he does assignment! That's quite a suprise cos he looks like a carefree person. I need to note this down somewhere. Just kidding.
Me: Oh wow! So you do assignments and by the way, what assignment?
Jason😊: Yes I do assignment lol and it's Maths
Me: I'm sorry but what's lol?
Don't blame me. I'm new to this phone system
Jason😊: Oh it's stands for L-laughing/ laugh O-Out L-Loud
Me: Oh thank you
Jason😊: it's no problem barbie. Well so I'm done with my assignments and I need to sleep now so I can have enough energy to disturb you tomorrow and you are actually the first girl I've ever texted this long.
Me: Oh so you reserve energy to disturb me?
Jason😊: Yes I do
I must admit. I blushed a little thank God he isn't here to see that
Me: Oh thanks I guess. Well good night Jason I'm also feeling a little bit sleepy
Jason😊: okay barbie good night and sleep tight😉
Me: I will. You too
And with that, the text conversation ends at nearly 3am. I decide to turn off my phone but since I am not used to it, I press the music button which starts to blast out "bad blood" by Taylor Swift and soon I hear foot steps drawing closer to my room. Dun dun I woke mom up!
"Is anything wrong here?" Mom says while barging into my room.
I forgot to lock the door!!! And she should at least have some respect for my privacy
"Yeah..em..yh everything is wrong..i mean eveything is okay" I manage to stuff the phone under the pillow but I guess that didn't subside the sound
"Is that a phone playing music under your pillow" Mom asks me with a suprise look
"Um no its a radio I got" I reply
Wow Anna you suck at lying!
Mom walks to the pillow and picks out the phone
"I can't remember buying you a radio that can change to a phone instantly, miss Anna" Mom says clearly angry and she only call me miss whenever she's angry
"Fine mom! I got a phone!" I succumb
"How?? Where did you get the money to buy the latest IPhone Anna did you steal? Oh no! We have to move from here too!" Mom starts worrying
"No mom! Chill I didn't steal any Goddam phone. I was given by someone" I reply
"What do you mean you were given by someone" she says Inspecting the phone closely
"I got it as a welcome gift from a friend and besides she had two so she wanted us to communicate so she gave mee one of them." I smoothly lie
"Oh" she yawns "I'm not totally convinced about this but go to bed we'll talk about this tomorrow..i mean later today" she says and with that she leaves my room but not without giving me back the phone.
Why did she have to find out this way! I was already trying to cook up something to tell her!!! Or maybe I should return the phone? No! I'm already having way too much fun with it! I can't return it and i won't return it!
I jump on my bed and re read my chat with Jason and I find a small smile on my face. I say a little prayer and fall asleep but not without thinking of what I am going to tell mom later today and oohh I want to see how Jason will behave to me tomorrow after our little chat.
