"Duuuuuude," Bert said, "look at the house!"
The Battle of The Bands house was a three story house--well, a mansion. "Are we the first one's here?" Alexander asked excitedly. "'Cause then we can get first dibs!"
The boys ran up to the doors and James tried to open the French double doors. "Is it locked?" he asked.
"Kinda," a voice said behind them. "You need to put your fingerprints on the pad. I'm Toby Smith, by the way. You guys are kind of early."
The boys turned around to see the famous show host. "Wow, uh thanks, sir," Alexander said. "Do we get to call dibs on any room we want?"
"Yeah you do," Toby said while smiling.
"Yay!" Bert yelled. James put his finger on the finger pad and the doors opened.
"Awesome!" Chad said. The five boys ran inside, oohing and aahing at the grand staircase and the big space around them.
"Where's the rooms?" Aaron asked.
"They're not exactly rooms. The bands have their own mini apartment," Toby said.
"Wow, really?" James asked.
"Of course," he said and they ran up the stairs, checking out all the rooms before deciding on their room. The bedroom had five beds for them, a basketball hoop on two of the beds, acting like a basketball court. There is a punching bag at the window and a big bathroom with two bath tubs and a shower, with two stalls for toilets.
"This is ours," Bert said to Toby.
"I thought you boys would like it," Toby said while laughing.
"This is awesome!" Alexander said.
"Well, you boys settle in until it's 5:30 p.m. Sound clear?" Toby said.
"Yep," Aaron told him. Toby left and Alexander jumped on his bed that he called dibs on.
"I still can't believe that we made it," James said quietly.
"You guys wanna go explore this place?" Chad asked.
"Of course!" Bert said, jumping up and down. The other boys nodded and they left the room. "Where do you want to start?" Bert asked.
"Let's go all the way up and then go down from there," Alexander said. The boys nodded and they continued to go up the stairs to the roof.
"Man this is beautiful," Aaron said, looking out at the woods around the mansion.
"It sure is," Alexander breathed.
"OK, let's move on," James said.
"James, don't you appreciate the beauty of all this?" Chad asked.
"Yeah, but I take it in quicker than you guys do," James said, grinning.
"Fine," Bert said and they went back down the stairs. They made it back to the main floor and looked around.
"Guys!" Alexander yelled. "There's a basketball court here!"
"Oh yeah!" Bert yelled as he ran toward Alexander's voice. He stopped when he saw the amazing court. "Let's play!"
Chad, James, and Aaron came running into the gym and James grabbed a basketball as the other guys stand around. "What are our teams?" Chad asked.
"I call James!" Bert said quickly.
"Then let's beat those two, Chad and Alexander," Aaron said, grinning at the other two. They high-five and and get ready to check the ball. James bounced the ball to Alexander and he bounced it back to James.
