Alexander woke up to find his back hurting really bad. He looked around to see his sleeping friends. He checked his watch and saw that it was eight in the morning. "Gosh," he whispered, rubbing his eyes. "Who knew I was so tired?"
He got up quietly and took The Prisoner of Azkaban out of the DVD player. None of the others were up, so he quietly slipped out of the room to go to the bathroom and get some breakfast.
After using the bathroom, he went to the kitchen and grabbed a box of pop tarts. He opened it on the way to the theater and helped himself to a package. While walking to the theater, he glimpsed something. Outside, it was pouring. And really bad. Suddenly, the mansion shook with a powerful thunderclap and he ran back to the theater room.
Bert sat up with a jolt. "What was that?" he asked.
"Thunder," Alexander replied.
"I wonder if they have a basement," Bert said, glancing around.
"You scared?" James asked while sitting up.
"N-no," Bert said stuttering. "Of course not."
"You're totally scared," Chad said. "I'm not. I like to watch the rain and lightning."
"Same," Aaron said groggily.
"I'm not sc-"
Thunder shook the house yet again and Bert screamed. They all laughed at him while he glared at them. "We could keep watching Harry Potter to drown out the thunder sounds," he said pathetically.
"Or jam out to some music," James suggested.
"Good idea," Alexander said.
"Why can't we just watch the Harry Potter movies?" Aaron asked.
"Chad, you have to choose one," Bert said seriously. "Choose the one that we shall do."
Chad stroked an imaginary beard as he thought. "We . . . shall . . .," he said dramatically, "jam out to music."
James and Alexander high fived and grinned. "How're we gonna do that?" Aaron asked. "In here or in our room?"
"In our room," Chad said. They walked back to their room in silence. Alexander grabbed James' computer and logged on. He pulled YouTube up and clicked on a song. "Anyone got a speaker near?" Chad asked.
"Right here," Bert said, handing him the cord to plug the computer into the speaker. "Are these walls soundproof?"
"I have no idea," Aaron said.
"Let's see if they are." Alexander started the song and they immediately recognized it. Unchained Melody started playing and they blasted it loudly.
"Not this song," Chad said. "Not one of my favorites."
"Too bad," Bert said, singing along with the old song. "Oh, my love, my darling. I've hungered for your touch. A long, lonely time . . .," he sang but stopped as soon as someone knocked on their door. Alex paused the music as James opened the door.
"Could you stop playing that song loudly?" the others heard someone say.
"We are sorry. We thought the walls were sound proof," James told the person. "We'll stop."
"If you want to rock out to your music, you can go to the choir room," the person said. "It has soundproof walls."
"Where is that at?" James asked as they looked at each other.
"I can show you," the guy said. "By the way, I'm Herbert."
"No way!" Bert said. "My name is Bert! That's so close!"
Him and Bert grin. "Cool," they both said and grinned.
"Choir room?" Alexander asked Herbert.
"Ah yes. Its this way," Herbert said while pointing. He showed them the way to the choir room.
"Thanks!" Chad said and they walked in while Herbert walked away.
"Now we may jam out to amazing music," James said and they laughed.
James tapped something into his computer and Hey Soul Sister started playing.
"Hey, hey, hey,
Your lipstick stains on the front lobe of my left side brains
I knew I wouldn't forget you
And so I went and let you blow my mind
Your sweet moonbeam
The smell of you in every single dream I dream
I knew when we collided you're the one I have decided
Who's one of my kind," they all sang. They continued to rock out until the loud speaker said, "All bands report to the living room!"
"Guess that means we have to leave," Alexander said sadly.
They walked out of the choir room, leaving James' computer in there. They found Toby in the living room with a few other bands. After everyone came, Toby said, "Hello guys! You wanna know why I gathered you here tonight?"
Everyone said a form of yes. "Well, the next challenge is tonight!" Toby said excitedly. "Get ready with your music trivia because that's our game tonight!"
