New Friends

"I can do this." Lapis mumbled to herself during a test on programming. 

"Stop talking please, Miss. Lazuli." The teacher grunted. 

"Oh oh oh yeah." Lapis blushed and couldn't help but feel stupid.

Peridot was also in this class. She actually enjoyed this kind of topic. She chose this college as a last resort but ended up liking it more than she expected. Lapis on the other hand just wanted to impress her mother and prove that she was worth more. She liked Marine biology but knew that is not something that easy to get a good job in.

RING RING

College was over for the day. Their college was set up like a highschool but everybody ignored it. Peridot left the classroom not in a hurry. She was just going to The Big Donut to try and see if some friends would let her stay in their dorm until she found a place of her own.

"Excuse me?" A shy, familiar voice said to Peridot.

"Uh.. hi?" Peridot responded warily.

"Hi... I was just wondering if I could sit here... The whole place is packed..." 

"Oh um sure." Peridot closed her skype window and laptop. She took out her earbuds too to seem polite and maybe spark a conversation.

"Thanks so much! Your name is Peridot right? I'm in your computer programming class! I hope I don't seem too weird by the way..."

"No no! You're fine.... I mean IT'S fine!" She did a face palm. "Anyways Whats your name again?"

"Lapis. Lapis Lazuli." She gave a cute smile like you see in cheesy movies. "So whats up?"

"Nice to officially meet you i suppose. I'm kinda just trying a place to move into. My mom," she cleared her throat. "My mom kicked me out and i have today and tomorrow to find a place to stay until i can find a place of my own."

"Oh..." She said contemplating making an offer to Peridot. 

"Yeah all of my friends houses and dorms are full or they just don't want me near i guess." 

"Oh well, I might be able to help you." She said remorsefully thinking nothing would come from her silly offer. 

"What do you mean?"

"I mean I bought a house and their is an extra room. It's nothing speical but if you would want to, you could move in..." 

"Really?" Peridot said wondering if Lapis was a crazy lesbian, rapist, or just somebody with a kinda heart and soul.

"Yeah really!" She said quickly almost regretting what she said. 

Peridot didn't know what to say. "Maybe would could talk about it over the phone or some other time." She said looking at the time on her phone realizing she had other places to be.

"Okay!" They exchanged phone numbers and went on with their days.
