The phone rang three times before Cody picked up.

"Yello!" He said enthusiastically.

"Cody, I need your help." I said with a serious tone.

"Wassup?" He asked, sounding confused. I told him what was up and he gasped.

"Bruh, the high council. There's nothing you can do about that. No one has ever escaped their clutches." He said.

"Thanks for the vote of confidence." I replied,

"Look, I need you to be on high alert, okay?" They will be coming for the people closest to me and my pack. I need you to keep surveillance over the pack members families. Can you do that?" I asked.

"Yeah, no problem. But how are you gonna stop them?" He asked.

"I'll cross that bridge when I get there." I said,

"For now, I have to make sure everyone else is safe." We said our goodbyes and I hung up the phone and jumped out of bed.

It was Saturday, September 9th, first day of real training.

I took a quick shower and went to wake the others up. Sometimes I wished I was still a beta and not the one in charge. This shit was hard. After half an hour, everyone was gathered in the living room in sports attire.

"Okay, guys, somewhere in the city, there is my bag, which is well hidden. I compelled a human to hide it and compelled them not to tell me where, so we all have an even chance of finding it. We are gonna split into two teams, whichever team finds it, the team members are excused from training for a week." I said, knowing that would be enough motivation.

"Team 1, which will wear these red bandanas consists of: Stephanie, Alex, Brandon, Jeremy and Hannah." I said,

"Jared, Nadia, Steven, Selena and Angela with be team two and will be wearing blue bandanas."

"What about you?" Jeremy asked.

"I'll be team three, wearing a green bandana. If I get it before you guys, it's double training for a week." They all groaned but looked determined to beat me. I smiled and said,

"Ready... Set.... GO!" I turned to run, but next thing I knew, Steven grabbed me and held me against the wall with Jared's help. I gave them a small chuckled and then changed, throwing them off me. They fell a couple feet back and I roared. Then I heard a crack and everything went black.
~~~~~~
I woke up and looked around, no one was there. Fuck, they got me. I got up and rubbed my neck, which ached. I looked at the time and they had gotten a 5 minute headstart. I smiled at their efforts and took off.
The first place I checked was the school. I stood at the entrance and recited a spell that would pull what I was looking for in a 1 km radius. After a couple minutes of chanting, nothing happened. I opened my eyes, growling in defeat. I looked up and saw Alex in front of me. I heard the crack and everything turned black once again.
~~~~~~
I woke up with a start and got up to my feet. I was still at the school. I rubbed my neck and ran once again, this time going to city center. I went into the car free zone and inhaled deeply. I could smell Angela and Jared. I followed their scent and found them chilling at two benches, eating ice cream and talking.

"Am I interrupting something?" I asked as I walked up to them.

"What, a guy can't get an ice cream with a beautiful girl in the middle of training." Jared said, winking at Angela.

"I guess you don't care much about starting on Fridays game then?" I said.

"Oh, I'm not worried, my team is gonna find the bag first." Jared said.
