Rapunzel’s P.O.V
As I reached out for the small wisp it quickly vanished and reappeared at least five feet away at the entrance of the forest. “I think it wants you to follow it Punzie.” Hiccup suggested. “Follow it?!”I exclaimed. “Don’t worry, I’ll go with you.” Hiccup chuckled. Toothless snorted in annoyance. “Toothless will come as well.” Hiccup quickly added. “Are you sure it’s safe?” I asked him. “Not really, but if what Merida said about them is true, then they will lead you to your fate.” Hiccup explained. “What if my fate is bad?” I asked. “It won’t be.” Hiccup promised. “How do you know that Hiccup?” I questioned. “Because I have faith that it will.” Hiccup answered. I smiled softly as I turned towards the entrance of the forest. “Well if you have that much faith, then so do I.” I stated as I turned towards the forest and followed the wisp. Again just as I got close enough to it the wisp disappeared and then reappeared at least five feet away. I continued to follow it as Hiccup and Toothless followed behind me. Suddenly we reached an open area. It opened to a hill in the middle of the forest. At the top of the hill there was tall stones organized in a circle. The wisp patiently floated at the top of the hill. I picked up my hair and quickly met the spirit at the top in the very center of all of the stones. “Rapunzel, wait up!” Hiccup called from behind me as he gestured for Toothless to follow him up the hill. At the top the wisp floated in place until I reached out for it again. It vanished once more and the reappeared at the bottom of the hill on the opposite side. I followed it down the hill and back into the forest. We followed it until we reached a barren area. The trees looked dead as they hung low as if the dried up leaves were weighing it down. The grass that comforted my feet grew dead and rough and soon the terrain under my feet turned to rocky soil. The clear air from the forest turned thick and heavy with fog. “Rapunzel be careful. We can’t see what’s in front of us.” Hiccup warned. But not too far away the wisp’s blue aura burned through the fog leading us deeper into this unknown land. Once we reached the spirit a structure came into view. It was old looking and it seemed completely trashed from a previous battle. “Where are we?” I asked Hiccup. “I’m not sure.” Hiccup responded. Toothless was hunched forward as if he sensed something. “What is it bud?” Hiccup asked him. Suddenly a loud rumbling sound broke the silence of the uninhabited area. “Hiccup?!” I exclaimed as the earth shook as loose rocks from the torn down structure rolled away. “Rapunzel get down!” Hiccup called as he mounted Toothless. I did as I was told and quickly ducked as Toothless shot a plasma blast towards the rocks that were rolling towards us. The plasma destroyed the rocks easily but they revealed a new threat. “What is that?!” I shouted as I quickly retrieved my hair and ran towards Hiccup and Toothless. “That looks like a bear.” Hiccup answered uneasily. In truth I hadn’t ever seen a bear in person before but from what I’ve seen in books it did resemble a bear. But this animal was much larger and seemed almost evil. It had golden eyes and jet black fur, spears and arrows stuck out of its back as it sat back on its hind legs and roared. “It’s Mordu!” Hiccup exclaimed. “The bear from Merida’s story?” I inquired. “Yes! Quick Rapunzel get on Toothless!” Hiccup shouted. I climbed on behind Hiccup as he told Toothless to fire his plasma blast numerous times. Each blast hit the bear and caused the beast to stagger backwards. It slowly moved closer towards the edge of a cliff as Toothless fired more. With one more blast the beast fell over the edge and disappeared below the fog. “That must have been one of Pitch’s nightmares.” Hiccup concluded as he dismounted Toothless and then helped me down. “Why would one of his nightmares be here?” I asked. “I don’t know, maybe it’s protecting something, or guarding something?” Hiccup suggested. “Guarding or protecting what though?” I asked. “Maybe whatever the wisp is trying to lead you to?” Hiccup suggested. “But the wisp disappeared!” I exclaimed in frustration. Suddenly the wisp appeared in front of me to prove me wrong. Hiccup tried to suppress his laughter but couldn’t once he saw how annoyed I had become. I followed the wisp to a small hole in the ground. I looked below to see that there was a room inside. “It wants me to go inside.” I stated to Hiccup. “Okay.” Hiccup commented as he looked below. “It looks safe enough.” Hiccup pondered. “Hopefully we won’t run into another nightmare down there, because I don’t think toothless can fit down there.” Hiccup explained. “If Toothless can’t fit down there then the bear probably couldn’t either. “ I chuckled. “Very true.” Hiccup laughed as he helped me down the hole. As he lowered me down I scanned the room. It was cold, dark and damp. It seemed untouched and rubble filled the room. Pieces of furniture, stone from the walls, and old weapons cluttered the floor. “See anything down there?” Hiccup called from above. “Nothing but rubble!” I called up. Suddenly the wisp appeared before me. “Hello again.” I greeted. It floated towards a small pile of rubble in response. I followed it towards the pile and began looking through it. I pushed aside rocks and broken pieces of wood until I came across a small golden box. I lifted it to eye level to examine it. It was dented slightly and covered in dirt, but from what I could make out I saw intricate designs on the sides. It was beautifully designed. With gold as its base and pinks, purples, and blues as its corresponding colors it seemed rather innocent. Almost as if it was something of a child’s. “Hey Hiccup! I think I found something!” I called. “Really?! What did you find?!” He shouted from the hole above. “I’m not exactly sure; I’m bringing it up with me.” I stated as I threw my hair up towards Hiccup to grab. He grasped my hair and gently pulled me up through the hole. I climbed up and showed him the cylinder box. “I’ve never seen anything like this.” He stated as he rolled the small box in his hands. “Maybe Jack or Merida will know what it is?” I inquired as Hiccup handed it back to me. “Hopefully they will.” Hiccup sighed. “We should head back then, before Jack notices you’re gone. He’ll have my head if he found out we ran into a nightmare, so I think we should keep that a secret Punzie.” Hiccup suggested. “But if there are nightmares here, doesn’t that mean that….” I trailed. “That Pitch is close by.” Hiccup finished. “Then we definitely should start heading back.” Hiccup stated as he helped me mounted Toothless. Hiccup got on in front of me and patted Toothless’ head. “Let’s go Bud.” He stated. Toothless kicked off the ground hard and launched himself into the sky.
