THE BIG FOUR STORY: Chapter 31 - Sweet mornings

Jack's P.O.V

The girls instantly crashed the moment that laid down. “Where are you going to sleep?” I asked Hiccup. “Down stairs.” He yawned. “I’m going to assume you aren’t going to get any sleep tonight are you Jack?” Hiccup asked. “Yeah I think I’m going to go out for a bit.” I stated. “Alright just be back in the morning so we don’t have to go looking for you.” Hiccup stated as he left the room. I climbed silently out the window and flew off into the night sky. The Moon was very bright tonight, and the sky was clear. “I think it’s time for a bit of fun.” I laughed to myself as I flew to the top of the village. At the top there was a small steep slope with a house. The house was well taken care of and had a small patch of cabbages in front of it. “Fungus come inside now!” A cranky voice called. “Mildew?” I thought to myself. Mildew opened his front door and assured his little “Fungus” inside the house. A very clever idea suddenly occurred to me. “Oh yes this will be perfect.” I stated. I then spent the next few hours making a giant dragon ice sculpture. It was a simple task thanks to my powers but it had to look extremely life like for this little prank to work. Soon the sun began to rise and time was of the essence. I built the sculpture right in front of Mildew’s house so when he opened his front door he would be in for a great surprise. I remembered before how he vented about dragons and such so this was going to be perfect. I waved my staff over the ice dragon to make sure it was frozen solid before I left. “I have to get back before they all wake up.” I thought to myself. The sun was completely up now and the Moon was lightly visible in the morning sky. I took off towards the sky but stopped myself to just take one more look at my masterpiece. “Oh this is going to be good.” I laughed to myself. I entered through the same window I had left from Hiccup’s room. The girls were still sleeping soundly. I inched closer to the bed and looked at the two girls. Merida slept with her mouth wide open and her curls everywhere. I laughed softly at her appearance. Rapunzel slept contently. Her face was calm and her breathing even. Her hair was perfectly strewn away from her face except for one strand. I reached out and pushed the strand gently out of her face. She stirred silently. I panicked at first because I thought I had woken her up, but she remained asleep. “Jack!” A voice shouted/whispered. I turned towards the voice and saw that it was Hiccup in the doorway. “Good morning.” I greeted. “We should wake them up.” Hiccup stated. “You can wake up Frizz ball.” I teased. He blushed lightly but then laughed it off. I knelt down and placed my on Rapunzel’s shoulder. “Hey Punzie, it’s time to wake up.” I cooed. She stirred again and turned on her side so she wasn’t facing me. I laughed in frustration.” Oh come on Punzie.” I stated as I sat on the bed. I then grabbed her arm and pulled her towards me. She groaned sleepily. “Jack five more minutes.” She begged. “Well when you beg like that….” I trailed as I started tickling her. She squealed loudly and instantly sat up. “Jack!” She whined. “Good morning, Princess.” I said with a smile. She rolled her eyes at me and shoved me so I fell backwards on to the floor. “Merida?” Hiccup asked as he gently nudged her. She didn’t budge. Rapunzel giggled at his futile attempt. “She’s a really heavy sleeper.” Rapunzel laughed. “I can see that.” Hiccup laughed. “Merida it’s time to get up.” Hiccup tried. Merida still didn’t  stir. Rapunzel suddenly grabbed my hoodie and pulled me to her. “It’s kind of like Snow White.” She whispered in my ear. I chuckled mischievously. “Hey Hiccup maybe you should kiss her, then she’ll wake up.” I teased. Hiccup reddened a deep shade of red. “Eh? Kiss her? I mean I would love to but-“ Hiccup stuttered. “Well go on then.” Rapunzel said as she urged him on. Hiccup turned his back towards Merida for moment as if to compose himself. I looked down at Merida and saw the she had one eye open. Rapunzel giggled and winked at her. Merida winked back but then closed it again to look like she was asleep. “You planned this.” I whispered to Rapunzel. “Maybe.” Rapunzel cooed. “You two are very sneaky.” I laughed. Hiccup then face Merida’s “sleeping” form. “If she wakes up and gets mad I’m blaming it on you two.” Hiccup warned. Rapunzel and I just gave him reassuring smiles as he leaned in. He pressed his thin lips against Merida’s. It was a short kiss but he seemed to be enjoying himself. Just as he started to pull away Merida opened her eyes and pulled him back down. Rapunzel laughed at Hiccup’s shocked expression as Merida kissed him. “Come one Punzie let’s give them some privacy.” I stated to her. She agreed and we left the room. We walked down the stairs and sat by the small fire pit in the middle of the room. Suddenly there was a knock at the door. “Hiccup! I know you’re in there! Stoick told me you were home!” A intense voice shouted. “Should I answer it?” Rapunzel asked me. “Nah let’s see where this goes.” I laughed. Suddenly the door slammed open and Astrid, Fishlegs, Snotlout, Ruffnut, and Tuffnut entered the room. “Hiccup?!” Astrid called again. “Whoa, who is that?” Snotlout asked as he pointed towards Rapunzel. She backed up and I stepped in front of her protectively. “Back off.” I threatened but then realized he couldn’t see me anyways. Hiccup came down the stairs with Merida. They were holding hands and both were blushing lightly. Hiccup’s hair was tousled slightly and Merida’s looked as messy as usual. “Looks like they had fun.” I whispered to Rapunzel. She giggled in response. “Hey there beautiful, I’m Snotlout.” Snotlout flirted. He took off his helmet revealing his greasy slicked back hair. “Uh hello.” Rapunzel squeaked. I raised my staff at him in anger. “Jack don’t, he’s not worth it.” Hiccup stated. I clenched my staff in anger causing frost to climb up the piece of wood. “Where on Earth have you been?!” Astird shouted at Hiccup. “Uh I’ve been busy.” Hiccup tried. “Busy kissing your girlfriend.” Rapunzel said in a sing song voice. But she instantly covered her mouth once they all turned to her. “WHAT?!” The gang said in unison. “Haha yeah about that, guys this is Merida.” Hiccup stated as gestured to her. They all stood in shock. “I am Merida first born of Clan Dunbroch.” She stated. “Ugh again with the whole life story.” I whined. Merida shot me an angry glare but quickly shook it off once Hiccup’s friends started asking her questions. “Wait Clan Dunbroch? As in the Highlanders? From Scotland?” Fishlegs asked. “Yes.” Merida answered. “Well it was great seeing you guys but we should probably get going so….”Hiccup trailed as he pushed everyone out of his house. Suddenly a loud scream echoed throughout the village. “What the heck?” Hiccup asked as he looked around. “What was that?” Astrid asked. “I have no idea.” Hiccup answered. “Finally!” I laughed as I flew out the door. “Jack what did you do?” Hiccup asked as he pinched the bridge of his nose. “Oh I just had a little fun with your friend Mildew.” I laughed. “Jack!” Hiccup whined. “Oh relax it wasn’t anything that bad.” I stated. “So what’s your name?” Snotlout asked Rapunzel. Fishlegs, Snotlout, and Tuffnut surrounded her. I growled impatiently and threw multiple snowballs at them. I hit them all in the face perfectly. “Jack! Knock it off.” Hiccup begged. “Oh come on they were scaring Punzie.” I whined. Hiccup shot me a weary glare. “Alright fine.” I said in defeat. “We should go check on Mildew.” Hiccup stated. “What the ole crank?” Snotlout stated. “No thank you.” Fishlegs stated. “Alright you don’t have to, Rapunzel are you coming?” Hiccup asked her. “Sure.” She answered. “Rapunzel? Uh I mean if she’s going then I guess.” Snotlout tried. Hiccup smirked at his response. “Hiccup, that’s just cruel and unusual punishment.” I tried knowing he was using Rapunzel to make the boys go with him to Mildew’s. “This is your fault to begin with, maybe next time you’ll think twice about pulling your cruel and unusual pranks.” Hiccup sassed. I groaned in displeasure. Hiccup walked towards Merida and grabbed her hand. “Are you coming too?” He asked her. “Please you can’t get rid of me that easily.” She teased as she scrunched up her face and shook her head playfully at him. “Jack?” Rapunzel called to me. “Yes Punzie?” I answered. She tilted her head and gave me a disapproving look. “Oh what did I do now?” I groaned. “You get so jealous sometimes.” She laughed. “Jealous? I’m not jealous.” I tried. Rapunzel just shook her head at me and laughed. “Alright fine I guess I’ll just go and walk with Snotlout then.” She stated as she turned to catch up with Snotlout. A wave of jealousy washed over me. I grabbed her arm and pulled her towards me. “Wait.” I tried. “Alright I’m jealous.” I admitted. Rapunzel smiled sweetly at me as she placed her hand on my cheek. “It’s cute.” She stated. “What is?” I asked. ”When you get jealous, silly.” She stated. “Oh.” I huffed. Rapunzel suddenly grabbed my arm and interlocked it with mine. “Let’s go for a walk shall we?” She asked. I nodded my head yes and began to walk with her.
